GG:Origin announced with $10,000 and IEM Sydney spot
UCC and GG.BET have revealed details of a two-stage tournament called GG:Origin, which will have one spot at IEM Sydney on offer alongside $10,000 in prizemoney.
The first part of the online tournament, called the main stage, will feature 16 teams. 15 of them have received invites, while the last spot will go to the winner of an open qualifier taking place on March 14.
So far 14 teams have confirmed the invitation, with teams such as BIG, Space Soldiers, GODSENT, Envy, and the Brazilian squad Não Tem Como — who are set to begin their bootcamp in Germany — taking part.
Starting on March 16, he main stage will consist of four double-elimination groups, with only the winners of each group securing a spot in the second and final stage. There, they will join four directly invited teams, Virtus.pro, Gambit, Heroic, and HellRaisers, in a single-elimination bracket, which begins on April 2.
