Athletico have formed a new Australian roster, featuring the return of two Vox Eminor legends in the form of Luke "Havoc" Paton and Azad "topguN" Orami.
Following the departure of the previous roster last week, Athletico revealed their new Counter-Strike lineup on Social Media today, marking the return of two Australian legends, Azad "topguN" Orami and Luke "Havoc" Paton, both known for their time representing Vox Eminor at the CS:GO Majors throughout 2014 and 2015.
Instead of bringing experienced players on board, the Australian organisation decided to select up-and-coming talent in the scene to fill the remaining slots of the lineup, including the likes of ex-Dark Sided in-game leader Jireh "J1rah" Youakim, and 15-year-old Isaac "Prodigy" Dahlan.
Little information is known about their fifth member Tim "Tim1" Foy-Miller, who was promoted to the main team after playing for the organisation's Academy team recently. With no commitments to any domestic leagues on their current schedule, they have the Oceanic qualifiers for ESL Pro League Season 7 to prepare for.
In the announcement, coach Peter "PeetyG" Souvlis gave the following statement:
“Naturally it will take some time for this experimental roster with 3 players under 19-years-old to gel, and for returning champions Havoc and topguN to get some quality game time under their belts. The timing for the roster could not have been better with a number of leagues being in mid season - giving the team the much needed time to practice and prepare before rushing into any major competitions. I’m excited for all the players involved and knowing Luke and Azad - it should be a lot of fun!”
