fnatic, AGO, Cloud9 & GODSENT to WESG playoffs

The fourth day at WESG World Finals has come to a close with four teams making their way to the playoffs from groups C and D: fnatic, AGO, Cloud9, and GODSENT.

Group C, featuring four European teams, saw the favored fnatic clinch first place with a 1-2-0 record, as they defeated Wololos and exchanged maps with BIG and AGO.

The Polish squad came in second place with a win over BIG, a tie against fnatic, and a loss to the Spaniards. Although AGO and the German side ended up with the same amount of points (4), Damian "Furlan" Kislowski's side claimed the playoffs spot due to the head-to-head result.

Cloud9 swept Group D

Group D was clear-cut. Cloud9 defeated all of their opponents to secure first place, while GODSENT beat MAX and Belgium at the end of the day to become the last playoffs team.

but winning with big and map with fnatic is nice
2018-03-16 14:17
AGO coach said on facebook that this is his fault - he said that he had f**ked up map pick. They won against BIG so they deserved, let's be honest.
2018-03-16 14:18
how the fuck you fucked up map pick ? banning your best map first and picking opponents best map lol. no way it was a mistake

Let me copy and paste that for you, just in case you didn't understand why BIG is out. Here you go: "Although AGO and the German side ended up with the same amount of points (4), Damian "Furlan" Kislowski's side claimed the playoffs spot due to the head-to-head result."

I didn't say anything about BIG. All I said that throws like that should be punished. I don't care who go through.
2018-03-16 14:25
The rules were known before the tournament so I don't understand why there is crying. AGO, BIG deserved the same , no one more, no less. but AGO thanks to the rules went further. Nobody has forbidden BIG to win with AGO
2018-03-16 14:26
Dude, that's a common practice not only in e-sport but in sport in general. You don't want to reveal your secrets / best strats if you don't have to. Like it or not but that's how it' works. All the best for ya.

HAs nothing to do with China. This is a thing which has been critiqued in alot of tournaments. The only fair thing here was to let big play a bo3 vs ago. But this is the system.
2018-03-16 14:20
big deserves it way more imo.
2018-03-16 14:21
Unfortunate rules for you. BIG was close to winning even one map with AGO. AGO would have won at least a map with Wololos and and there would be nothing to talk about. I think they were deconcentrated after these two hard games.
2018-03-16 14:39
AGO played with Wololos on nuke, where Nuke never played. Furlan wrote "As nuke we are not afraid to play, we are not afraid of anyone"

remember major my friend, paz ace against cloud9, ss won against cloud9.
2018-03-16 14:22
Relevant here how? They also beat SK ages ago, why not mention that as well? All I’m saying is that they have had the easiest possible road, and it continues in the play offs as well now. Pretty undeserved tbh.
2018-03-16 14:44
its not about their performance in this event smart ass
2018-03-16 15:16
What performance then?
2018-03-16 20:00
their major run, beating Optic and nV bo3 at LAN in the minor, mouz and misfits in the major quals, C9(major winner) and BIG and also losing close unlucky games against SK, Gambit and Mouz(all 13-16). they would have been legends now if they didn't get such unlucky draws
2018-03-16 21:22
I agree they played well at the major, but I fail to see how it relevant since it was 2 months ago now and that is a long time when it come to keeping yourself in shape in esport. We really don’t know where SS stands since they have yet to be tested at all really. If anything the draw vs TeamOne is a bit worrying seeing as it’s the closest thing to a decent team they have faced so far.

It's so crazy to me SK isn't here. C9 looks like they are feeling it which is good. Hopefully we get a Fnatic, C9 final so something decent to watch comes from this tournament. It's insane to me how much money is involved in this thing considering how many teams aren't here.

I wouldn't put too much stock in that. It was a BO1 when they had already qualified. Looks like C9 and Fnatic will more then likely play each other in the semis. Should be a good game and to the winner will likely go the spoils.

1-1 With Ago and big (in my opinion) doens't mean fnatic is bad (of course you would say,i m just typical fnatic fag but i mean),AGO and BIG were just struggling in these matches. The prize pool is 1.500.000$ so i would really step up too in these types of games.

Really all these teams are quite lucky. Top four and you make pretty damn good money. Top eight money is like a regional LAN win. For everyone but C9 and Fnatic that's going to seem pretty good. I only exclude C9 and Fnatic because of pride as well. Neither of these teams wants to get caught with their pants down against any of these borderline T2 teams.

So you guys really think that if a team loses 2-0 in a BO2 and then they're tied to move on; the team who got swept should move on? Lol what a joke. Use your brain; ofcourse it would go head to head first if they played each other then RD
