ESL has confirmed Natus Vincere's invitation to the $250,000 tournament held in Sydney, Australia.

The Aussie event is scheduled to take place on May 1-6, with ESL officially announcing Natus Vincere as the sixth squad invited to the sixteen-team competition.

The Ukranian-Russian roster kicked off 2018 with a couple of notable LAN results, finishing top four at ELEAGUE Major Boston and runners-up to mousesports at StarSeries i-League Season 4 despite the efforts of Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev's MVP performance, who has been the hot topic to talk about due to the recent SK report.

Natus Vincere are coming down under for the first time

IEM Sydney will feature the same format used at IEM Katowice earlier in the year, which will begin with two eight-team double-elimination groups. Six teams will advance to the playoffs held on the last three days in front of the local crowd at Qudos Bank Arena.

Below is the updated list of participants for the upcoming event:

Brazil SK Europe FaZe
Australia Renegades Europe mousesports
United States Cloud9 Ukraine Natus Vincere
Other TBA Europe GG:Origin Qual.
Europe Europe Qual. North America NA Qual.
Other Asia #1 Other Asia #2
Other Asia #3 Oceania Oceania #1

Look at the list in the article, it is one more invite.
2018-03-23 07:58
Yea. I saw the teams. Left Side SK,Renegades,C9 invites[All NA region]. Right side FAZE,Mousesports,NaVi invites [All European]. GG:Origin which is in Europe , so Last invite slot(TBA) will be from NA.

2018-03-23 10:23
You just ignored the fact that the EU qualifier slot is on the left side, totally ruining your “logic”? The teams are placed in the order they are were presented. The last invite slot is world wide. And giving to NA would be stupid since C9 is invited and the only other good NA team (liquid) will qualify 100/100 times from the low tier NA region.

nt, NRG gonna beat that dead horse
2018-03-23 13:02
Would be nice if other NA teams started to put up more of a fight. But then NRG should get to the event for beating Liquid in the qualifier, not from liquid getting invited and NRG having a free win qualifier while good EU teams will get knocked out in EU qualifier.

2018-03-23 10:19
Would be a waste, not that Liquid doesn’t deserve it, but in the way that Liquid will still qualify 110% since rest of NA is so bad. So if Liquid is invited we will get a bad team from NA qualifier. Better invite a good EU team and have Liquid qualify. That would make the most competitive event.

2 from oce last year (RNG and chiefs) this year is 4 RNG + 3 qualified teams. but yes there should be one more slot for NA and one more invited team to replace one from oce and one from asia. (there is already 2 EU slots)

EZ +markeloff +dosia Markeloff already said he's returning to main awp, it would be epic to see him make guardian look like a joke

hahahaha this isnt cs 1.6 markeloff will never be as good as guardian with the awp dosia? im done
2018-03-23 06:30
Have you seen this markeloff awp ever? No. He's rusty. With practice I definitely think he can be a super star awper again. Pakistan CS OMEGALUL your best team got rekt by a bunch of kids from India lmfao Ok idk about dosia but there are a lot of cis players they can get.
2018-03-23 06:34
ive seen him awp in 1.6 and he was a god but awp in go is so much different especially after the nerf , he isnt rusty he has to adapt to a different kind of awping and btw im not ashamed to show my identity unlike u

???? im talking about csgo , i know he was the greatest awper in 1.6 no comparison but its like the same for guardian and kenny is csgo maybe he can reach the level of a lower level awper like woxic or something but he will not be a goat csgo awper

It is too big tournament (I mean it is still IEM brand) to give a shot to 6 weak teams who will most likely get stomped. Okay, give them 3 spots combined, it is enough right? Besides Renegades I can't even give you the names of 3 teams from Oceania.

Me neither, but I guess they are afraid people won't show up if no sufficient amount of teams from there is present at the tournament. I doubt that will have impact, and I don't agree with the decision either.

No way they will invite NiP, G2 or VP instead of Fnatic, Liquid or Astralis for the last spot. Also there's only 1 qualifier for NA when 6 fucking qualifiers for Asia and Oceania combined lol.

As ive said they have already won more events than NaVi since 2011 and V4 will be the next one event to the collection. What about NaVi? Dno. They will probably win 1 or 2 maps at IEM Sidney against Asian and Oceanian teams lol but still wont make it to playoffs as always. Also you're probably mentally ill, so get a doctor to help ya. Goodbye vodkalover. Dont take too much vodka, it's dangerous for ur brain.
