Copenhagen Games BYOC qualifier set to start

Copenhagen Games 2018's BYOC qualifier will begin on Thursday, with over 100 teams vying for four spots in the main tournament.

The BYOC qualifier sees 114 teams split into 32 double-elimination groups, from which the top two will continue on to a single-elimination, best-of-three bracket.

The four teams reaching the semi-finals will automatically secure entry into the main tournament, joining invited quartet Heroic, North, Quantum Bellator Fire and Kinguin. A total of $100,000 will be on offer in the competition, with the winning side earning half of that figure.

Hiko's Rogue headline the team list for the BYOC qualifier

Tricked, who won last year's event under Singularity, Rogue, Imperial, Windigo and LDLC are some of the big-name teams who will be taking part in the qualifier, which will begin at 10:00

Half of the teams are literal irrelevant nonamers, who just show up to have some fun. Should be easy for the known teams.

why do some groups have 4 and others 3 teams in it??
2018-03-28 14:11
They would need a lot more teams to make it 4

CIS CA1MAN
wouldn't it make more sense just to take the groups with one team too much and put them in seperate 3-team groups therefore just creating leftover groups instead of unbalanced ones?

I guess it is because of seeding, it’s easier to pick top 64 to go through from 32 groups than for example from 24 groups.
