Leicester to host Pro League relegation, ESEA MDL Global Challenge

ESEA has announced the dates and venue for the ESL Pro League relegation stage and its next MDL Global Challenge.

The ESL UK studio in Leicester has been selected to host both competitions, with this being the second time that the European and North American Pro League relegation matches are played on LAN.

After the relegation stage, which will run from May 9-10, the ESL UK studio will open its doors to the ESEA MDL Global Challenge. The leading teams of the European, North American and Australian ESEA MDL divisions, plus the winner of ESEA Open Brazil will compete from May 11-13 for the lion's share of a $50,000 prize pool.

BIG will compete in the next ESEA MDL Global Challenge

The complete team list for the ESEA MDL tournament is the following:

According to ESEA, the seeding allocation and a detailed schedule will be released closer to the event. As for the $50,000 prize fund, it will be distributed as follows:

1. $18,000
2. $10,000
3-4. $5,000
5-8. $3,000

If you check the distribution list again you will notice that it is as follows, 1 x 18k 1 x 10k 2 x 5k 4 x 3k Therefore the sum is effectively 50k.
