The news of Alejandro "ALEX" Masanet's departure shook the Spanish scene this morning, as its top team lost one of its star players.
Movistar Riders, who had been together for nearly two years until today, recently had a heartbreaking end of the season after failing to qualify for the MDL playoffs with three straight losses in the last three matches.
Following the MDL debacle, Movistar Riders then had a rough exit from the ZOTAC Cup qualifier, spurring the coach Eugenio "kam1kaze" Mongi to publicly criticise what he saw as a general lack of ambition among the players. Now, the team lost one of its hardest hitters in the server, Alejandro "ALEX" Masanet, who tweeted he is open to hearing offers.
The change comes after a row between ALEX and kam1kaze that got out of hand and ended in the former being cut from the team. Several players bid ALEX farewell and best of luck, including Alejandro "mopoz" Fernández-Quejo Cano who stated he will be a very hard player to replace in-game. On the other hand, Francesc "donQ" Savall Garcia had some harsh words towards his former teammate, saying his poor manners ultimately overshadowed how talented he is.
