zonic extends contract with Astralis
Just a day after claiming the title at DreamHack Masters Marseille, Astralis have announced that they have signed a new two-year contract with their coach Danny "zonic" Sørensen.
The former CS 1.6 player and mTw legend Danny "zonic" Sørensen has been a part of Astralis since the organization's inception, joining in January 2016 alongside the players that formerly represented dignitas and TSM. Today, the organization has announced that they have penned another two-year contract with their coach.
In the official announcement, zonic stated that it was "natural to continue the cooperation" considering the "close ties that were built" as well as "some really good results" achieved. zonic also adds that he believes that the current squad is about to become the "best Astralis ever":
"With the addition of Emil "Magisk" Reif, the good online results and the victory in Marseille, the timing for the extension is perfect. The boys really impress me every day, and with the dedication, discipline and the crazy good mood they each bring to the team, here we are about to become the best Astralis ever. We have said before, but I think that the victory in Marseille and especially the way we went through the tournament backs my claim. And we have just begun the development of this team."
The DreamHack Masters Marseille champions will have their next LAN test just a week from now when they will compete at IEM Sydney 2018, hoping to add another Intel Grand Slam victory to their name.
