OpTic confirm Snappi & JUGi signing
Heroic and OpTic have announced the transfer of Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and Jakob "JUGi" Hansen to the North American organization for an undisclosed amount, with former North coach Casper "ruggah" Due also joining the squad.
Confirming HLTV.org's report released Tuesday, leaving OpTic's active roster are Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan and Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz, who had plied their trade with the organization since February, when the Danish-North American mixture was created.
The trio depart OpTic without having played a single offline tournament. They only took part in qualifiers for DreamHack Masters Marseille and IEM Sydney — placing second and third-fourth, respectively, failing to qualify in both cases — as well as in North America's two prestigious leagues.
Although OpTic have had disappointing results in ECS with three wins from 14 matches, they are currently sitting in third place of ESL Pro League with 35 points from 18 matches.
"I’ve had two great years in Heroic, but I’ve decided to take a chance to develop in a new environment with new goals. I only have positive words for what I’ve experienced with Heroic, the guys around the team and for my teammates. They are a bunch of extremely talented guys and I wish them all the best!" Snappi said in a statement.
"I am now swapping one green shirt with another, though, and I hope to be able to help OpTic meeting the organizations ambitions. It’s a big challenge for everybody, but I will do everything I can to make it happen."
The new lineup of OpTic is the following:
Casper "ruggah" Due (coach)
At this point it's unclear whether the new lineup will still be based in the United States full time, or whether they're going to travel back and forth depending on their obligations in ECS and ESL Pro League.
