ESL Pro League European division finalized

Striker
April 26th, 2018 22:52

The European division of ESL Pro League Season 7 has come to a close with the top seven teams making it to the finals, which will be held in Dallas, Texas, on May 14-20.

Over the last two-and-a-half months, 14 teams played each other on two maps, fighting for seven spots at the finals and an additional $105,000 in prize money, which were allocated to the bottom seven places.

Perhaps the biggest surprise of the league were Space Soldiers, who clinched fifth place with 46 points. The other side of the coin saw fnatic finish 11th, after topping the previous season, and thus out of the running for a spot in Dallas.

mousesports topped the European division

mousesports snuck their way to first place after grabbing full points in the last week, closely followed by NiP, who ended the league with the same amount of points (52) but a lower round difference in the head-to-head.

Natus Vincere, FaZe, and Astralis were also safe in the last-round matches, but the last spot was all up in the air between Heroic, North, and HellRaisers until the very last results came in.

Kirill "ANGE1" Karasiow's team took North out of the equation after grabbing four points off them earlier today, with Heroic barely missing out on the league as they weren't able to finish off AGO in regulation on the second map, which saw them lose the tiebreaking scenario to HellRaisers.

The final standings of ESL Pro League Season 7 Europe are:

1. Europe mousesports - spot at Finals
2. Sweden NiP - spot at Finals
3. Ukraine Natus Vincere - spot at Finals
4. Europe FaZe - spot at Finals
5. Turkey Space Soldiers - spot at Finals
6. Denmark Astralis - spot at Finals
7. Europe HellRaisers - spot at Finals
8. Europe Heroic - $18,000
9. Denmark North - $17,000
10. France G2 - $16,000
11. Sweden fnatic - $15,000
12. France EnVyUs - $14,000 (to play S7 Relegation)
13. Poland AGO - $13,000 (to play S7 Relegation)
14. Europe LDLC - $12,000 (relegated to MDL S28)

According to the rule book, if teams are tied in points, the round difference of the matches played between the tied teams decides (and if that is even, then a bo3 tie braker is played). Mouz won NiP 16-8 NiP won Mouz 16-12 -> Mouz 28 vs. NiP 24 -> Mouz wins. ESL's own standings are wrong.

G2 had the potential to become top5 team, but rather they put out shox and dig their own grave. Now G2 is a powerless sh**.
2018-04-27 07:13
G2 played only 1 bo1 offline, it doesn't count. Online they look good, not good enough to beat Astralis, but the lineup that shox wanted to gather would be even worse than G2 is now.

Well, we can not know it, but I think shox's idea would be better. Btw, I am curious about the new team with shox and ex6tenz:)
2018-04-27 10:37
SmithZz should go back to retirement. I could see this lineup working (if to forget about stupid dramas): Ex6 shox NBK kennyS apEX. Enough firepower, clear roles, a support player that can frag (NBK). shox is always all about feelings, feelings displace thoughts in his decision making, he likes SmithZz to be near him when playing and that's it, but when they play their matches and SmithZz still suck and bodyy too, shox will blame Ex6 in the end, because whom else to blame - definitely not his beloved friend, while Ex6 was always the main guy to blame for shox in the past, people don't change, and the saddest part is that Ex6 has no choice, either this bad project or no project at all.

SmithZz is decent as long he doesnt have to be main awper, 2016 G2 with -Rpk/ScreaM +KennyS would've fucked shit up

> SmithZz is decent Dude it's only your dreams. You believe in shox' words about him, I believe in his stats hltv.org/stats/players/events/7170/Smith.. You shouldn't be just decent when your team has Ex6 and bodyy, because who the fuck will get kills? Do you believe that shox and kennyS will play like flusha and krimz at IEM at every tournament? Even then Lekr0 is easily a much better fragger than bodyy or SmithZz.

Well yeah... It would've helped but you get to work with you have atm. However the bigger disappointment at least for me was with fnatic since they were pretty good recently on LAN tournaments and they are out of the finals here.
2018-04-26 23:32
yeah i would definitely like much more to see fnatic, but instead i will see the biggest onliners in the world that call themselves "space soldiers" and also a piece of joke they call "hellraisers" no fnatic, no G2 still we have ss and hr fuck that
2018-04-26 23:35
I'd rather see HR on lan but definitely not G2, this team is fucking garbage, playing disgustingly bad. At least HR can provide a decent match unlike poor g2 under botBK
2018-04-26 23:46
G2 lately: 1-1 with fnatic 1-1 with faze really close with astralis on mirage, lost in OT HR would suck cock and they will, one of at least 2 wasted spots
2018-04-26 23:48
hahaa, barely won against bad shape fnatic and faze with bot xizt in online match, what an achievment. For sure, G2 is tier 1 team, no doubt
2018-04-26 23:50
remind me of any HR achievements at least online?
2018-04-26 23:54
HR had if I'm not mistaken quaterfinals finnish in last season EPL's finals..they won some shitty lan recently (still counts cuz they won over North) and they have been doing pretty good imo, we will see

We'll see. I think both these teams are capable to compete on the level that other teams are. They are in top 7 after all. That's something :) SS is especially a dark horse since they do not play very consistently. 2nd at WESG where their game was very solid both on skill and on strategic sides, but then failed at DH. Of course in DH they played their only 2 matches with future winners and 3rd place so it's hard to say. All in all I think it's a good thing that players are getting better and it is match harder to dominate for one team in the same way as was 3-5 years ago.

because the table automatically counts the RD when the points are equal ... but actually what matter is the head to head result and here HR won over Heroic cuz they grab more points at the EPL from Heroic ...

That list doesn't take tiebreakers into account, HellRaisers are seventh due to a tiebreaker (4 points in the head-to-head vs. Heroic's 2 points)

Mouz has better round diff in the Mouz-Nip matches
2018-04-26 22:58
but on ELS own webpage NiP is nr.1 in the standings due to round diff. look en.pro.eslgaming.com/csgo/proleague/stan..
2018-04-26 23:00
Their standings are wrong. Rule book says the head-to-head round difference decides if points are tied. Mouz won nip 16-8, Nip won mouz 16-12 -> mouz is top1.
2018-04-27 17:26
Not in the head-to-head, which is what takes priority when two teams have the same amount of points. As they split points evenly in h2h result (3 points each), it came down to the round difference in the h2h, which is 28-24 in favor of mouz.
2018-04-26 23:00
is that an HLTV thing? cause ESL currently has nip as #1 i agree that mouz should be #1 im just saying
