compLexity sign ShahZaM, stanislaw

compLexity have announced that they have signed Peter "stanislaw" Jarguz and Shahzeb "ShahZaM" Khan from OpTic Gaming.

The duo will step into the shoes of Peter "⁠ptr⁠" Gurney and Alec "⁠Slemmy⁠" White, both of whom have been moved to backup status in the North American team.

ptr had been part of coL's setup since August, when he replaced Derek "⁠desi⁠" Branchen on the roster, while Slemmy had been playing for the team since the beginning of the month following Pujan "⁠FNS⁠" Mehta's transfer to Cloud9.

stanislaw will take the reins over in coL

The move follows a disappointing run in the ESL Pro League, with the team facing the prospect of relegation after finishing in 10th place in the regular season. In ECS, they are currently next to last, six points adrift of safety.

"The current combination of players that we have is obviously not working out and is not getting compLexity and our fans to where we want to be," compLexity owner Jason Lake said in a video announcing the changes.

"We are really excited about this new team. We might not be done making changes yet, but we think this is going to be an instant upgrade.

"We take Counter-Strike very seriously, and we are not going to stop until we build a contender. I am going to build a winner, regardless of what it takes."

compLexity have not yet stated what will happen to the team in ECS, with the organisation allowed to add only one player from a league rival to their roster, as announced by FACEIT on Thursday in a media roundtable.

With these additions, Complexity's roster is now:

Both Shaz and Stan are solid players, people take the optic-liquid situation and scream Stan sucks! People for some reason have Shaz's bad phase cemented in their minds. Loose ingame leading with players who aren't as good as alot of NA EPL doesn't sound like it will bode well. Not every old player would make a good coach. Coaches are supposed to bring emotional support and keep people in line. If they can't do that (Like most NA coaches cant), then they need to be able to coordinate with ingame leaders and fix the problems of a team. good signing most probably. shahzam and stanislaw are very close and deph, yay and android all have a huge upside considering their position. shahzam is very likely an upgrade in comparison to ptr. ptr is coach material his cs career is almost over. shahzam however showed huge mental stamina in his career and is ready for the next step. now he found players which resonate to his current abilities and hunger. don't jump to conclusions reading one part of the story - never do. it's a basic sign of respect to talk english when there are english speaking people near you but there is a hole variety of reasons (psychologically) why they danes formed a group and isolated themselves. this should be a lesson to all orgs who think they can make a majority of foreign people and expect it to blend very well with two people who are left out in terms of language, culture, habits. next time maybe start with 1 or 2 players to have a slow integration progress. and don't backstab your own core (optic manager).
