peacemaker steps down from Heroic; MODDII becomes player-coach
Heroic have announced that they have terminated Luis "peacemaker" Tadeau's contract by mutual consent, with Andreas "MODDII" Fridh taking over as coach.
According to RFRSH Entertainment Director Kasper Hvidt, Andreas "MODDII" Fridh will don a player-coach role on an interim basis, with the team's full lineup due to be announced "in the near future".
Luis "peacemaker" Tadeu had been part of Heroic's set-up since November, when he joined the Danish organisation from TyLoo. He had a contract with Heroic until December after signing a one-year deal at the end of 2017.
During his time with Heroic, the Brazilian coach most notably led the team to a fourth-place finish at cs_summit 2 and to a final appearance at Copenhagen Games.
In a statement, peacemaker revealed that he is currently battling with health issues, which, combined with Heroic's plans to restructure the team, made the two parties decide to go separate ways.
"I have had some health issues in the last three weeks, it is nothing serious but it will definitely require rest, time off and focus," he wrote.
"Heroic will not only participate in several tournaments in the near future, but they are also rebuilding their roster and creating a new profile.
"RFRSH has given me full support in this period, but both parties felt that this was the best decision to make.
"If everything goes as planned, I hope to be coaching a new team in the near future."
The announcement comes at a difficult time for Heroic, who recently lost in-game leader Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and AWPer Jakob "JUGi" Hansen to OpTic.
The Danish team fielded former NiP member Adam "friberg" Friberg in their final ESL Pro League matches, finishing outside of the offline finals qualification places after being involved in a two-way tie with seventh-placed side HellRaisers.
Heroic now have:
Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel
Patrick "es3tag" Hansen
Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen
Andreas "MODDII" Fridh (player-coach)
