ESEA S27 MDL Global Challenge groups revealed
ESEA has revealed the groups for its upcoming MDL Global Challenge, kicking off on Friday.
With $50,000 on the line, the MDL Global Challenge, taking place at ESL's Leicester studio, will feature the leading teams of the European, North American and Australian ESEA MDL divisions, plus the winner of ESEA Open Brazil.
The tournament will begin with a double-elimination group stage that, for the first time in the history of the Global Challenge, will feature best-of-three elimination matches as ESEA wants "to guarantee that the best teams progress to the bracket and give the teams valuable experience playing against the top talent outside of their region."
The top two teams from both groups will then progress to a single-elimination, best-of-three bracket to determine the new Global Challenge champion, who will succeed last season's winner, AGO.
Below you can find the groups for the Global Challenge, which will be finalised only after the MDL Finals, scheduled for Wednesday:
|Group A||Group B|
|Winner of Windigo vs. BIG||Winner of eUnited vs. Swole Patrol|
|Loser of eUnited vs. Swole Patrol||Loser of Windigo vs. BIG|
