eUnited have assured themselves of a spot in ESL Pro League Season 8 after defeating Swole Patrol on three maps (3-16 on Nuke, 16-10 on Inferno, 16-13 on Overpass).

Starting out as Counter-Terrorists on their map pick, Nuke, Swole Patrol opened up the action by finding three kills, but Brandon "Ace" Winn responded with a triple-kill in an effort to tun the pistol around in eUnited's favour, only to get denied by Austin "Cooper-" Abadir in a 1v1 situation.

After building up their economy, eUnited seemed to be finally getting the hang of things as they won three of the next six rounds. But that was the best they could get from the first map as Ryan "freakazoid" Abadir and co. took control of the game and quickly locked down the map.

Relyks' eUnited came from behind to beat Swole Patrol

Swole Patrol carried that momentum into Inferno, eUnited's map pick, winning five rounds right off the bat. Michael "dapr" Gulino and his teammates then strung two rounds together, but, just like on Nuke, Swole Patrol did not let go off the gas and went on another five-round streak.

Nevertheless, eUnited secured the final three rounds of the half to reduce the deficit to 5-10. That moment marked the beginning of a massive run from eUnited, who won 11 rounds without response in the second half to take the series to an all-deciding third map.

freakazoid and co. nearly stopped eUnited from closing out Overpass

The decider map, Overpass, kicked off with Swole Patrol winning their fourth pistol round of the match, but eUnited immediately responded with a successful force-buy, which they followed up with five more rounds.

Swole Patrol responded with two rounds, but they would only be able to win two more until half-time. In the second half, eUnited, now playing as Terrorists, picked up their second pistol of the series and followed that up with the corresponding anti-ecos to go up 13-5.

eUnited went on to secure the first full gun round to hit 14 rounds, but Swole Patrol came back to life and won eight rounds in a row to bring the deficit to a sole round. eUnited then broke that streak on a shoddy CZ-buy, however, and picked up the following round to earn a spot in the prestigious ESL league.

This format is really shitty for the teams. Why the heck does ESEA makes the ESL relegation before the MDL tournament? You will get teams desmotivated as hell for the MDL tournament if they don't get the spot...
