FACEIT has announced the teams that will be invited to the closed qualifier for the CIS Minor as well as two teams invited to the Asia Minor, while the European and North American closed qualifier invites will be revealed at a further date.

The closed qualifier for the CIS region, which will run on June 1-3, already has a list of invited teams, as announced by FACEIT, who will host the entirety of the Major cycle from open qualifiers to the Major itself, with all of the Minors taking place at Twickenham Stadium, in London.

Renegades have been invited to the Asia Minor

The qualifying and invited teams for the CIS closed qualifier will fight for eight spots in the Minor, while the Asia Minor, which will take place on July 16-20, will feature two invited teams joined by six teams from the open qualifier who will then be flown out to London for a shot at earning their place in the Major’s Challenger Stage.

The top placed teams from the closed qualifiers in Europe, CIS, and North America will take part in the Minors at Twickenham Stadium where $50,000 per Minor and berths to the Challenger Stage will be divvied up among the best performing teams from every region.

The teams invited to the CIS Minor closed qualifier are:

Europe HellRaisers Kazakhstan AVANGAR
CIS FlipSid3 Russia Spirit
Ukraine pro100 Russia EPG
Russia forZe Belarus Nemiga

The teams invited to the Asia Minor are:

China TYLOO Australia Renegades

Wtf hr shd be in EU minor why in cis????
2018-05-10 19:37
2 ukrainians I guess. Majority isn't CIS though but two players are technically from asia, so maybe that's why? The middle East is part of Asia. Also easy route to major lol
2018-05-10 19:53
Nope, Valve doesn't count Turkey as an Asian country. Look at Space Soldiers, at the last time they qualified through Europe Minor. So it is because 2 CIS, 2 Europe, 1 Asia. I agree with you, CIS is an easy way to reach the major.
2018-05-11 05:03
3 hr players not from cis that unfair

SK Gaming is EU org based in Germany but CS team playing in NA but they are from SA...
2018-05-10 22:35
in the valve world, there's no such thing as 'NA' and 'SA'. they're part of one and the same 'america' region. and where the org is registered has never played a role, it's only the players. in valve's eyes, HR has 2 players from europe/africa, 2 from cis and 1 from asia/oceania, so they could be invited to europe or cis.
2018-05-11 16:36
Wow wow wow hold on with that geography. You've made terrible mistakes there :D
2018-05-16 11:02
no mistakes. i wrote "in valve's eyes". it's not my fault that they separated the world as they did :D

Hmmm.... HellRaisers not Europe team because Turkey and Jordan not part of Europe only Hungary from Europe = 2 Ukrain 1 Turkey 1 Jordan 1 Hungary Team From Ukrain
2018-05-12 16:29
in the valve major, turkey is part of europe (+africa). that's why spacesoldiers had to go through the EU minor. so 2 from EU, 2 from CIS, 1 from middle east (which is part of asia+oce).

A great story, but only Ukraine has never been part of the CIS. These are the words of the great Peter Poroshenko, LUL.
2018-05-10 18:44
Two CIS, one EU, two Asia. They can choose between CIS and Asian minors.
2018-05-10 18:13
two CIS, two Europe and one Asia, Turkey is part of Europe

2018-05-10 18:07
well aren't they a CIS based org? even though their team is international, somewhat like OpTic when they had that international lineup
2018-05-10 18:08
#29
 |
Russia Nikosimus
They are a CIS based org but that doesnt mean they should play CIS closed qual If so, half of teams should move E.g. SK is German iirc
2018-05-10 18:09
it depends on where they play from, not where their players or the org are from, optic is probably going to play the NA qualy despite now beeing a full danish roster

No it’s fully based off where the players are from.
2018-05-11 03:35
then why do teams like Luminosity play the NA qualys?
2018-05-11 04:25
#121
 |
Australia OkraN
It isn’t a NA qualifier it’s the “Americas” qualifier which include NA and SA
2018-05-11 04:52
the open and closed for America are divided in NA and SA

Those aren't the minors and are therefore based of optimal server locations instead of who the players are. Both of those qualifiers are for the Americas Minor and therefore any team from an eligible region can participate in either.
2018-05-11 06:10
yes, but I'm talking about the qualifiers in general, not just the minors, also Bravado plays there and they're not american
