friberg signs for Heroic
After spending the last two weeks standing in for Heroic, Adam "friberg" Friberg has signed a long-term contract with the Danish organization.
Heroic have now completed their roster following the loss of Jakob "JUGi" Hansen and Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer, who were transferred to OpTic in late April, while Patrick "es3tag" Hansen stepped back into the active roster.
Since then, Adam "friberg" Friberg has been standing in for the team in ESL Pro League Season 7, where the team finished in eighth place but ended up replacing HellRaisers at the finals in Dallas, as Özgür "woxic" Eker ran into visa issues.
The Dallas event, which begins on May 15, will be friberg's first tournament as an official member of Heroic, although the team will travel across the pond with Jorgen "cromen" Robertsen, who is standing in for the illness-struck Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel.
The Nordic team is also confirmed to attend CS:GO Asia Championships, which will take place on June 14-18 in Shanghai, China.
"I’ve had a break from the competitive part doing some streaming but I really felt like something was missing and I am super excited to be back playing professional CS:GO! I am a very competitive person and I love winning, so I will work extremely hard and do everything I can to lift another trohpy." friberg said in a statement.
"I feel like we have a good mix of young and experienced players on Heroic, and even more importantly, there is a willingness to work hard and to constantly improve on the team, which is will help us reach our goals!"
Heroic's complete roster is:
