Liquid to Pro League final over Natus Vincere

May 19th, 2018 21:24

Liquid beat Natus Vincere in two maps, their own pick, Dust2, 16-14, and Inferno, 16-10.

The series between Natus Vincere and Liquid kicked off on Dust2, the latter team’s pick, with the American side taking the pistol round on the CT side. Having planted on the pistol round, Natus Vincere went into the third round with weapon advantage, and doubles by Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev and Denis "electronic" Sharipov got the Russian-Ukrainian side on the board, which would shortly thereafter show a 2-2 tie. On the attacking side Natus Vincere quickly started to show they were the superior side, linking several rounds in a row and resetting Liquid twice for a 9-4 lead. The American team finally got two in a row, bringing the half to 9-6 and leaving the map wide open.

The second pistol round went down to the wire, as electronic won a 1vs3 clutch to further increase his team’s lead. Natus Vincere got to 12-6 before the first gun round. From thereon out, the roles switched and it was Liquid who took the reins of the match into their hands, doing the same Natus Vincere had done to them before switching sides. Liquid managed to take the lead going into the last round, and with a swift B push late in the round took the first map of the series.

Liquid have earned the first spot in the grand final after beating Na`Vi

The second map, Inferno, started out with Liquid on the CT side, taking their first pistol round of the series in part thanks to three kills from Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken. Liquid quickly started controlling the half, stopping Natus Vincere before they could get comfortable in their late executes. Quickly, the CIS side disintegrated, with Liquid taking 8 rounds, including the last one with four AWP kills by Nick "nitr0" Cannella, before Natus Vincere could respond with one of their own. Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko & co. were able to take a few rounds, but it was Liquid who were in full control with an 11-4 scoreline.

Winning the second pistol round, Liquid started getting closer to the final, but Natus Vincere stopped that momentum by taking a third round force by and following it up against an economically maimed Liquid. The North American team finally found a way in to get on match point as they entered A, taking Zeus, electronic and Egor "flamie" Vasilyev out before planting and forcing the rest of Na`Vi to save. Liquid didn’t follow it up immediately, allowing Natus Vincere to string several more rounds together before closing it out, 16-10, and clenching a spot in tomorrow’s grand final.

so playing 28 matches in total and only winning 4(with only significant win being an upset against Navi) makes you tier 1/2/3? Hell they were only able to tie against Cplay an italian team ffs

You use the mvp logic stupid lul "The MVP signifies he is the best player in that tournament." Yes, if he get the mvp in the major he was better than s1mple in the tournament. You're saying s1mple it's better than cold because he has a mvp without winning the tournament, you really think that it is more important than a major mvp? Try to use the brain, it's very useful ;)

Don't put this shit my friend, s1mple fanboys always over rating this 2018 era as most competetive even though it's the most random and almost all the best top teams are worse in 2018 than they were in 2017 and on top of that the teams they got replaced by in the ranking are struggling as fuck as well. Only team you can make a case for "improvement" is Astralis but heres the thing, if you don't have a short term memory you would of remembered that Astralis was godlike early on in 2017 imo even better than they are now and then fell off so if they somehow start falling off in 2018 then 100% they had a better 2017. s1mple fanboy arguments stats and trying to down play other players achievements, players like coldzera for example anyway the fact is if you have to rely on stats with no context and talking trash about other players to make the one you like look better than you are insecure and know he isn't the best.

1 series out of 20 yes
2018-05-19 22:30
well in this series he was better and a 1 series sample size proves my point so you are objectively wrong.

SK looks kind of dumb coming out of this. I think the problem was they never really used Taco correctly. Glad he found a home here. He looks great.

Well, baiting him gave them 2 majors and 8 big tourmaments, so I think they did used him correctly, lol

2018-05-19 22:10
I'm talking about the end of his time with the team. Not 2016/17. The real problem with SK is Fer and Fallen are playing way worse then they ever have before.

the truth is coming out taco in sk = sacrificed himself for the team. k/d ever negative taco in liquid = play free. nice kiils, nice moves. k/d positive sk is the problem

TL is a great team. I love the concept of making roster changes even when things are going well. Makes good players go to your team. With the addition of TACO and NAF this must be the best NA roster of all time. Though I doubt they can make a run like the other c9 roster did in Boston.

Agreed, so much biased haters after s1mple one "bad" series in a while. Still finished the event 1.19 what would be good performance by any other pro standarts.
