AVANGAR beat VP to reach grand final at ACL

May 23rd, 2018 16:51

After a back and forth bo3 against Virtus.pro, AVANGAR have moved on to the grand final of Adrenaline Cyber League 2018.

The first map, Mirage, was off to a quick start with AVANGAR winning the pistol round and the following two anti-ecos. Virtus.pro won their first gun round, but lost the followup, with Timur "buster" Tulepov shutting down the Poles with a quad kill.

AVANGAR dominated the next rounds and made it to 9-1 before Virtus.pro managed to respond with great play from Michał "MICHU" Müller and Filip "NEO" Kubski.

AVANGAR are in the final at ACL

Two more rounds was all the Poles could manage, though, as the half ended with a comfortable 12-3 lead for AVANGAR.

Their domination continued in the second half, with Ali "Jame" Djami and his men winning the pistol round on the terrorist side. From then, it didn't take long for AVANGAR to wrap things up, ending the map 16-3.

Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski became the hero in the first pistol round on Train. The 24-year old survived a post-plant, 1v2 clutch situation with only 3 hp and ended the round with three kills.

Virtus.pro capitalized on the great start, quickly taking control and winning every round until they reached a 7-0 lead. AVANGAR managed only three spread out rounds in total in the first half, which ended with a 12-3 scoreline.

Virtus.pro continued their good form in the second half, winning the pistol round and the next three, ending the map 16-3 and making it 1-1 in the series.

The first pistol round in the decider, Cache, was a nail-biter. Snax found himself alone against four AVANGAR players, killing two before nearly planting the bomb with a few seconds left on the clock. AVANGAR were able to shut him down, though, and won the pistol round as well as the next two anti-ecos.

Virtus.pro won their first gun round, but Jame and his men fired back with two quick rounds to make it 5-3. What followed was a good period from the Poles, who took three in a row, but AVANGAR made it out on top in the first half as they rallied to a 9-6 lead.

After the switch, Virtus.pro won the pistol round and followed up that with four more rounds to take an 11-9 lead. AVANGAR then buckled up and took off, securing seven in a row and reaching match and series point. They nearly sealed the deal in the next round, but a last-second defuse from MICHU prevented it. With plenty of money in the bank from the seven-round streak, though, AVANGAR bought up once again and finally won the map, 16-13.

VP go disband, now AGO take their place, they have ambitions and they really want to play cs and be better and better, hope to see them in tournaments in the future, they should gain more experience and top 20 can be real
2018-05-23 16:56
Virtus pro org will never hire AGO players because they will never achieve anything, 0 potential they can be better than VP but honestly everyone at this point is playing better than VP and pasha & co. are 1000x times more popular than AGO so = more money for the org

0 potential? LOL you are so stupid, check their matches, social media and learn something, if they gain experience they will be really dangerous team, it's logic that they will never achieve more than VP, but actually they play much better than them
2018-05-23 17:12
Why is everyone laughing when the better team won?
2018-05-23 16:56
Because the better team probably isnt payed 25k/month x D
2018-05-23 17:31
Why is everyone so obsessed with other people and their salaries? Maybe they're worth a lot in merchandise sales, marketing and PR for their sponsors. If their employer thinks they're worth it, he'll pay them. I know they fell off, but who are we to decide their worth?
2018-05-23 17:41
Oh i was just making a joke! Imo people forget things like branding and having an image Just having names such as NEO/pasha on a team makes income
2018-05-23 18:49
Yeah I sensed that from your smiley, but the general consensus on this site seems to be that they aren't worth it. Maybe they aren't anymore, seeing as they don't attend the same type of tournaments as they did when they signed the new contracts.. But VP still has one of the largest fanbases in the scene. I feel like they're slightly comparable to the big football clubs that fell off like Milan, Inter and Liverpool (until recently) in terms of notoriety.
2018-05-23 18:57
Yeah,agree
2018-05-23 19:13
this shows how important taz was, yeah they was also in slump with taz. But they always menaged to bounce back win some tournament, then again in slump. Also never saw tier 1 team like VP(when they was tier1) To be in such slump maybe one of the biggest in CSGO history
