StarSeries i-League S5 viewer's guide

With StarSeries i-League Season 5 about to start, we have prepared a viewer's guide with all the information you need to know about the event, including schedule, prize distribution and on-air talent for the English broadcast.

Starting on Monday and running through Sunday at the National Palace of Arts, in Kiev, the next StarSeries event will feature 16 top teams, five invited and 11 determined by online qualifiers held in Europe, North America, Asia and the CIS.

Reigning StarSeries champions mousesports will return to Kiev to defend their title, with Season 4 losing finalists Natus Vincere also in attendance. Astralis, FaZe and fnatic are among the big-name absentees after declining invitations to compete at the event, which will have $300,000 on the line.

mousesports will try to defend their Season 4 title

The tournament will begin with a best-of-three Swiss stage, with the top eight teams sealing passage to the single-elimination playoffs. Unlike the previous StarSeries event, there will not be a third-place match this time around, with both the semi-finals and the title decider being held on the final day of the competition.

Which tournament t1 is?
2018-05-27 13:36
a tournament with more than 6 top teams
2018-05-27 13:36
liquid, nip, sk, navi, gambit, mouz. close enough
2018-05-27 14:17
gambit and sk lol

look at the current top 10
2018-05-27 14:45
hltv ranking lul
2018-05-27 14:46
true, esl csgo ranking is much better. oh wait both sk and gambit are top 10 there as well.
2018-05-27 14:46
no ranking is perfect. also sk and gambit are NOT top teams.
2018-05-27 14:47
you said a tournament with MORE than 6 top teams is tier1, yet you deny a team that is #7-8 in two separate rankings of being a top team, then by your logic its impossible to have more than 6 top teams so no event can possibly be tier1?
2018-05-27 14:50
i said more than 6 top teams not 6 teams in the top10 LMAO
2018-05-27 14:51
if a team in the top 10 is not considered a top team, then how can any other team outside of it possible be one?
2018-05-27 14:53
I don't think you know the difference between an actual top team and top10 teams. top teams are contenders, tier1 teams. sk and gambit arent contenders
2018-05-27 14:54
Tell me when there has ever been a csgo tournament with 6 title contenders
2018-05-27 20:09
i said it wrong. well you know what i mean by top teams.
2018-05-27 20:13
I understand, but HLTV has to countfor something, its impossible to keep track of top contenders without it, especially recently where no team apart from Astralis and Faze (before Xizt) are consistent on a tourny by tourny basis
2018-05-27 20:18
yeah.
2018-05-27 20:19
top teams are: astralis, navi, mouz, fnatic, liquid, faze, and maybe nip
2018-05-27 14:53
tournament with more than 6 top teams and you just said that there are only 6 top teams
2018-05-27 15:34
sorry i should have said 5. also nip is probably the 7th tbh.

2018-05-27 13:40
He doesn't want you to 'not watch', he's just suggesting that if you are so incapable of watching a tournament without the so temporarily ranked 'top 2 teams', then don't, just stop whining.
2018-05-27 14:38
Exactly, thank you my desi brother
2018-05-27 16:45

It's completely relevant...
2018-05-27 20:51
??? I was making a joke about this being a T2 tournament, which in all seriousness, why would I call a tournament with my favorite team attending t2, and I think you didn't quite grasp it... Also I didn't say anything about top 2 teams? As to my reply to r_hawk, the sarcasm was dripping off of that comment... Come on man.

Agreed - Na'Vi, SK or Mouz, but I do not believe in SK just yet so Na'Vi should only have (in theory) to worry about Mouz like at the last Starseries then.
2018-05-27 21:11
Their fault for not coming, SK, NaVi, Mouz are going to other tourneys they're going to as well and they're playing this. Starseries has always been a nice tier 1-1.5 tournament and it'll be so this year as well.

No 3rd place decider, BO3 final (because semis and final the same day) instead of BO5, that's a bit disappointing. About 40 to 50% of the teams are pretty mediocre ones as well.

It's a tier 1- tier 1.5 tournament, it's the fault of the "top teams" to decline the invite for this, starseries has always been a nice tournament and even this year it will have no shortage of competition and good counter strike.
