mouz outlast North; AVANGAR beat Gambit in Ukraine

The action at StarSeries i-League Season 5 continued with mousesports defeating North 2-1 (19-16 on Dust2, 7-16 on Mirage, and 16-12 on Train) and AVANGAR taking down Gambit 2-0 (16-7 on Mirage and 16-12 on Overpass).

North and mousesports faced off in the first round of the Swiss group at StarSeries i-League Season 5. The best-of-three game started on Dust2 and the CT-sided Danes won the pistol and anti-eco rounds. Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen clutched a 1vs2 in the first weapon round to give North their fourth round.

mousesports couldn't string together more than two rounds at a time in the first half, which led to North leading 11-4 at halftime. Things got even better for them as they picked up the second half pistol round victory.

mouz won their series 2-1

Despite leading 13-4, North couldn't close out the map which went to overtime after Robin "ropz" Kool's ace in the 30th round. mousesports completed the comeback and secured the map victory with a 19-16 scoreline.

Just like on Dust2, North had a good first half on the second map Mirage. MSL's team started the map on the T-side and won the first three rounds. Losing the first weapon round was just a minor inconvenience for the Danes who went on to finish the first half 11-4 in front. North didn't allow a comeback this time around, finishing it off 16-7 and forcing a third map.

mousesports started the deciding map Train by taking a 6-1 lead on the T-side. North won six of the following eight rounds to close the first half a round behind (8-7). mousesports won the map 16-12 to take the series 2-1, securing their first win in the Swiss group.

The Kazakhstani derby featuring AVANGAR and Gambit kicked off on Mirage. The CT-sided AVANGAR won the pistol round after defusing the bomb in a 2vs2 situation and resisted Gambit's force buys in the following two rounds to lead 3-0.

The next time Gambit bought weapons again was in the fifth round but Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov's team couldn't breach AVANGAR's defense, making it 5-0 in favor of Timur "buster" Tulepov & company. AVANGAR's streak was ended after ten rounds thanks to Rustem "mou" Telepov and Nikolay "mir" Bityukov's double kills (10-1).

AVANGAR have won their first match

AVANGAR finished the first half with an 11-4 lead. Gambit started their CT-side campaign by winning the first two rounds but AVANGAR didn't let Gambit's economy strengthen and, thus, went on to win the map 16-7.

Overpass was more competitive as AVANGAR, who were on the CT-side, took the first two rounds but Gambit responded with three of their own to go ahead. AVANGAR then grabbed six rounds to lead 8-3 but Gambit picked up the last four rounds of the half to trail 8-7.

Gambit secured the first two rounds in the second half to get a 9-8 lead but AVANGAR's T-side performance was too much for Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev's team to handle and AVANGAR won the map 16-12 and the series 2-0.

Aizy LUL hes lucky MSL loves him because he would of been gone a long time ago
2018-05-28 19:20

2018-05-28 19:23
I never understood back when they dropped Magisk and kept him. MSL will end up kicking Kjaerbye or Valde next
