The Spaniard has been part of the organization on a trial basis since March, replacing Richard "shox" Papillon in the active roster after G2's former in-game leader had wished the team to undergo more drastic lineup changes to improve their results.
The Frenchmen proceeded to exit DreamHack Masters Marseille in last place and, earlier this month, IEM Sydney in 7th-8th place. As a result, the organization is now looking to update their lineup again, allowing mixwell to search for opportunities elsewhere.
According to the announcement, G2 will soon release details on the new roster, which will attend ECS Season 5 Finals on June 8-10 in London, United Kingdom.
Reports from Flickshot.fr suggest that Nathan "NBK-" Schmitt and Dan "apEX" Madesclaire are also on the way out, with shox and Edouard "SmithZz" Dubourdeaux about to enter the active lineup alongside Kévin "Ex6TenZ" Droolans.
"The decision-making process to define the final line-up that will represent G2 Esports moving forward has started. While this occurs, we wish to give Oscar the opportunity to explore any options on the market." coach Jérôme "NiaK" Sudries said in a statement.
"It is important for us to make it clear that Oscar has been an incredible teammate ever since he joined us for a trial and in a particular context which has undoubtedly added difficulties for him to show his full potential.
"His maturity, his worth ethic but also his ability to adapt to a new role and all of that in a language that he hasn’t practiced for years makes Oscar a player of a rare value in CS:GO. We have no doubts that he will find success in the upcoming years, regardless whether he ends up in G2’s final lineup or not."
