Liquid beat fnatic; into ECS semi-finals

Liquid are through to the semi-final stage at the ECS Season 5 Finals after defeating fnatic 2-0 (16-5 on Nuke and 16-13 on Inferno) in Group A's decider match.

On the first map of the series, Liquid got the better start on the T-side of Nuke securing the pistol as well as the following anti-ecos. Nick "nitr0" Cannella and co. pressed on to add two more to their lead to make it 5-0 before Jesper "JW" Wecksell's artistic display with the AWP won fnatic's first round of the half.

Liquid didn't back down and continued to harass the CT's with two more added to their lead, but the Swedes managed to snap the streak with a clean retake to win their second of the half (2-7). Liquid's relentless aggression kept the Swedes backs against the wall with four in a row, but with little economy fnatic managed to close the half with two of their own, 11-4.

Liquid continued their dominance on the CT-side winning the second pistol following the anti-ecos for a 14-4 lead. A full buy from fnatic forced the CT's to back down and save, but Liquid's strong economy allowed for the North Americans to win two in a row, securing the map and the series lead.

EliGE led Liquid with a 1.40 rating in the sweep

The series moved on to Inferno, Liquid's map pick, where a smooth double from JW on the retake granted the Swedes the pistol win. fnatic's stout defense didn't leave much room for Liquid, who eventually won their first after trailing for six rounds (1-6).

The two sides then traded rounds, but Liquid was able to establish an economy and claim five in a row to finish the half 8-7. Liquid came out swinging in the second half applying pressure against the Swedes to secure the second pistol, which put the North Americans in the wheelhouse to win four in a row (12-8).

A timeout called by the Swedes proved to pay off as fnatic finally claimed a round of their own on a full buy that forced the CT's to save. Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski nearly came out on top in a 1v1 post-plant but the bomb went off before the North American could defuse, reducing fnatic's deficit to two.

With money in the bank, fnatic were able to keep Liquid on their heels, but the North Americans were flawless on their retakes winning three in a row to reach match point. However, a 1v2 from Richard "Xizt" Landström kept his team alive in the 26th round which allowed the Swedes to win three in a row, but Liquid finally put the nail in the coffin to take the series and a spot in the semifinals.

All you should know about flusha, KRiMZ and jw's decision-making adequacy: they left olofmeister & dennis to team up with pronax & schneider in GODSENT. How much intelligence do you need to do anything like that? Now they decided to play with xizt. Once they were good with pronax, once xizt led an amazing team, that's it - it's enough for them to go for it, they have hard times differentiating the past and the present. Moreover, they are ultimately ruining Golden's image by making him an entryfragger and leaving him alone on a site, they do know his aim is mediocre but they still do it. OK, you don't want him to lead - just kick the guy, let him find his new home, why are you fucking everything up for him in the end? The funniest thing is that the fankids will still blame Golden for everything. P.S. xizt is a usual monster at picking the right maps, God knows what he was thinking, as well as his org. Yes, he's a useful player, but they picked him not as an ordinary player, but as an IGL.

2018-06-09 19:21
dear xizt lover, the first time NiP actually started to have any tactics was after they picked THREAT and btw flusha sucked at fragging - does anybody criticize him for that? no, because fanboys are ready to ride his and xizt's cocks, but when it comes to golden - he's to blame for everything

Sure thing brother, it's sad how you think NiP fans are kids. Perhaps you're some 2015 csgo player that thinks he is already good to say anything about the cs scene. But, my friend, you would need at least some experience to say so. I, myself, play since cs 1.3 and I'm pretty sure I know that everything you've said was fucking retarded (excuse the swearing), other than somethings of the first paragraph. So, please talking, again, I didn't even commented to insult you, I just wanted to mention that what you were saying, apart from being unintelligent, was rude and repulsive towards other half life tv users, such as myself.

An apology? Towards some kid that can't share any argument apart from "omg i play cs since 0.9beta and xizt was great so how dare you?!"? 0/8

Xizt WAS great. He was a god when played in old fnatic.MSI vs f0rest and GeT_RiGhT in SK and markeloff in NaVi. Also, "some kid that can't share any argument", I didn't even share one, since all I wanted to say was that you were disrespectful towards myself with no need what so ever. One more thing: I'm 28 years old, I might have said something that made me sound like a kid (if that's the case), other than that, pretty sure I'm old enough to rape you and to drag you to an old station to teach you a lesson, if that's how you wanna talk.
2018-06-10 17:23
Surely he was. pronax also was great and it was more recently, doesn't change anything about his level and success now, the same goes for Happy (CS:GO) and Neo (overall) currently. With xizt they won't have any big event victory, and you regard him as a good IGL. Save this one if you want to come back in several months and say "you were wrong". Prepare some excuses instead, like "Golden plays bad" etc.

Nah, I'm fine. I never liked Xizt post 2k16, since he was underperforming all the time, i'm glad he got replaced. But I don't like dennis too much, maybe pronax would do a better job. Fnatic were only my favourites in cs 1.6 when f0rest, GeT_RiGhT and caRn were there, after that it was NiP till today, to differ from all the stupid kids A.K.A. SK and FaZe fans
2018-06-10 17:29
Finally someone who understands. The core 3 will always be Fnatics problems
2018-06-09 19:39
Xzit picked Nuke vs Liquid who has looked decent on Nuke and actually beat NaVi. And fnatic has never looked exceptional on Nuke. Worst map veto evar
