Liquid have beaten BIG 2-0 in their Group B opening match at ESL One Belo Horizonte (16-14 on Cache and 16-11 on Inferno).

The best-of-three Group B opening match started on Cache where the CT-sided BIG picked up the pistol round victory with Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz's triple kill. BIG won the anti-ecos, making it 3-0, and had a 5vs3 advantage in the first gun round. However, Liquid were able to win the round which started a seven round streak for the North Americans.

The German side found two more rounds in the half and trailed 10-5 at halftime. Owen "smooya" Butterfield was the hero of the second half pistol round as he got a quad kill to bring his team their sixth round. BIG then won the anti-ecos and the first weapon round with only one player loss in each round (10-9).

Liquid started the event with a victory

BIG kept their streak alive, taking the lead and making it 13-10 after winning the first eight rounds of the second half. Liquid responded by taking back the lead and leading 14-13. In the 28th, round Johannes "nex" Maget stepped up with a quad kill in a 3vs5 post plant, tying the game at 14-14.

Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski's double kill in the penultimate round gave Liquid one map point and Keith "NAF" Markovic closed it out in the 30th round with a double kill of his own and a bomb defuse as Liquid secured the map 16-14.

BIG will play an elimination game tomorrow

BIG kicked off Inferno on the CT-side, picking up the pistol round and denying Liquid's third round early buy (3-0). The North Americans hit back in the fifth round but their economy got reset in the following round as they lost it.

When BIG were leading 9-1, Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken clutched a 1vs3 which salvaged Liquid's T-side campaign as they started a four round streak to end the half 10-5 behind. In the second half pistol round, Twistzz stepped up once again, securing the round with a quad kill. Liquid only lost one round throughout the half and won the map 16-11, closing out the series 2-0.

Was an OK result to be honest. Smooyas first big LAN. Cache was good and lost unlucko. And Liquids inferno win was deserved, the T side from BIG was really bad.

Newest additions to big are worse than God B. Damn the German scene is screwed. I mean we should've know with a UK player in there.
