TyLoo to CS:GO Asia Championships playoffs over MVP PK
TYLOO are through to the quarter-finals at the CS:GO Asia Championships 2018 after eliminating MVP PK from the tournament with a 2-0 victory (16-14 on both Mirage and Inferno).
The Asian clash began on Mirage, TYLOO's map pick, with MVP PK getting off to a flying start after winning their CT pistol, 5-0. Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand's men responded with two fast and successful strategies, and then switched up the pace to bring the deficit to a single round.
Still, MVP PK got their sixth round thanks to a tight defence in B, which inspired them to keep their composure, losing just one more round before bagging a 10-5 half-time lead.
The Koreans started off the second half with what seemed to be a ravishing fake A play, but Kevin "xccurate" Susanto found a crucial double-kill in B to help his team win their CT pistol. TYLOO followed that up with a great run, stringing six more rounds together to go up 13-10.
It was only then that MVP PK's efforts paid off, though with nothing but CZs, with Keun-Chul "solo" Kang and co. turning around the score in their favour after winning four rounds in a row. Nevertheless, TYLOO would not let their map pick slip away from them, closing out the map, 16-14, on the back of a 1v2 clutch from Yue "AE" Yu.
MVP PK's map pick, Inferno, kicked off with Hyun-Pyo "XigN" Lee securing the T-side pistol for his team with a quad-kill that included a 1v2 clutch. After following that up with the anti-ecos and the first gun round, the Korean side still lost two rounds, but then they won their fifth round with nothing but pistols.
With their economy back on track in the tenth round, TYLOO found a footing on the map and won four of the final six rounds to reduce the deficit to three rounds by half-time. However, MVP PK further added to their lead in the second half after winning their third pistol of the series, 12-6.
In the gun round, BnTeT and xccurate pulled off a great 2v4 clutch, which marked the beginning of a five-round streak from their team. Although Min-Seok "zeff" Park then responded with a quad-kill to win the 24th round, TYLOO's players kept stepping up to the plate to hit 14 rounds. MVP PK still equalized things, but, just like on the previous map, they would fall to TyLoo at the final hurdle.
