Freedom 35 and The Pioneers are the last two teams confirmed in the closed qualifier for the Americas Minor after finishing top two in the open qualifier.

Over 70 teams across North American took part in the final open qualifier for the next Americas Minor, with Freedom 35 blanking burds treadmill and Gorilla Gang, while The Pioneers swept iNTACT before winning their three-map series over F1-racecar-PEEK to advance to the closed qualifier.

The first semi-final kicked off on Dust2, where Freedom 35 came out swinging to earn the pistol and the following anti-ecos in the 3-0 start. Gorilla Gang managed to throw a few rounds on the board but Freedom 35 took the lead, 9-6, at halftime. Gorilla Gang jumped out in the second half to secure the pistol, but Freedom 35’s CT-side was stout and they held off to take the 16-8 map win and series lead.

TenZ and co. seal passage to the closed qualifier

The series then landed on Inferno, where Gorilla Gang go out to a flying start winning the T-pistol before earning a 5-1 lead. Freedom 35 got back in the picture with six in a row to turn it around to 7-6, before eventually claiming the first half with an 8-7 scoreline. Gorilla Gang secured the second pistol at the start, but once again Freedom 35 dominated in the second half to win 16-11 and seal passage to the closed qualifier.

Ok, just looking at the current team list that came from the open qualifiers, how are they going to make up 8 other teams to invite? Obviously C9, SK and Liquid are already at the major. Beyond that there's NRG Rogue eUnited coL Luminosity Who else is even left? boxr? Even that one gets pretty questionable. Also if they're gonna invite LG then why didn't they just go to the SA qualifier?
