Heroic beat Space Soldiers to qualify for DreamHack Masters Stockholm

Heroic have booked their spot at the DreamHack Masters Stockholm after beating Space Soldiers 2-0 (16-13 on Nuke, 16-14 on Train).

The battle for the last European spot at DreamHack Masters Stockholm kicked off on Heroic's map pick, Nuke, with the Nordic squad bagging a quick 3-0 lead after winning their CT pistol and the corresponding anti-ecos. Space Soldiers responded with a round of their own on the back of a 1v1 clutch from Engin "MAJ3R" Küpeli, but were immediately countered by Heroic .

Space Soldiers got back on the board in the eighth round with another 1v1 clutch, this time around by Ismailcan "XANTARES" Dörtkardeş. After that, the Turkish side lost only two more rounds to bring the deficit to a single round by half-time.

With a fast ramps execution, Heroic, who were playing with Asger "AcilioN" Larsen instead of Ruben "RUBINO" Villarroel, picked up their second pistol, but Space Soldiers replied with a successful force-buy. After building up their economy, Heroic strung three rounds together to go up 12-10.

Space Soldiers then picked themselves up to restore parity at 13-13, but Heroic responded with a 1v4 clutch from Andreas "MODDII" Fridh, a triple-kill from Nikolaj "niko" Kristensen, and Adam "friberg" Friberg's 1v2 clutch to close out the map.

niko led the way for Heroic with a 1.37 rating

Heroic started their opponents' map pick, Train, as CTs and on the right foot, shutting down Space Soldiers for five straight rounds. The Turks then went on a massive run, losing just one of the following nine rounds, but Heroic still managed to win the last two of the half to secure a narrow 8-7 lead.

Now playing on the CT side, Space Soldiers picked up their first pistol round of the series and followed that up with an anti-eco. In a third-round buy, AcilioN clutched a 1v2 to halt the momentum of MAJ3R's men.

Despite Space Soldiers winning the next round, Heroic kept overrunning the defence, who were only to win one more before friberg and co. reached 14 rounds. Space Soldiers still found a lifeline by bringing the gap to 14-15, but that was simply not enough to stop Heroic from running away with the game.

His English is bad, but he plays FPL and can give basic CS calls, mouz don’t exactly play the most structured and tactical style of CS anyway so it wouldn’t matter as much as if he was joining an astralis-style team

m8 an "engine" or "motor" is a machine designed to convert one form of energy into mechanical energy. Heat engines burn a fuel to create heat which is then used to do work. true ez4ence xD
