MIBR confirmed at ZOTAC Cup Masters; Liquid pull out

MIRAA
July 12th, 2018 19:15

Made in Brazil are the latest team confirmed for the ZOTAC Cup Masters, while Liquid have confirmed that they have decided to skip the event.

MIBR are the fourth invitee confirmed for the event, joining Virtus.pro and Chinese duo TyLoo and VG.Flash, with only one invite left to be announced.

The Brazilian team made their first appearance under the Immortals-owned brand last week, at ESL One Cologne, finishing in 7th-8th place after losing to eventual runners-up BIG in their group's decider match.

MIBR confirmed at the event in Hong Kong

ZOTAC did not provide the reason behind Liquid's withdrawal, with the North American organisation expected to comment on this matter on Twitter soon.

The five invitees and the three qualified sides will face off from August 24-26 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center, as part of the e-Sports & Music Festival Hong Kong (EMFHK), organized by the Hong Kong Tourism Board, with $300,000 on the line. The team list for the event currently look as follows:

Nice, finally something they can win.

You dont think its indicative that roster changes are incoming?

I think it’s more of an indication that they don’t want to travel so long for tier 4 event.

Maybe

Exactly, I try to pull out as often as possible to avoid complications. Good for them

we live in stages, players too ... the countless tournaments that win, including 2 majors do not count?
2018-07-12 20:04
Totally different lineups and over a year ago.thats like me saying coL is great they won so many events in 2005-2007 with frogs and storm. This MiBR hasn’t won shit bro. And unless they bring in more NA players they never will. With that being said they will prolly turn to NA to save them and get rid of shitzera for Tarik. Tarik and Stew can prolly carry these guys to a major. They will be heavier than c9 was givin they are lower skill but Tarik and Stew will do it mark my words
2018-07-12 20:13
>Unless they bring in more NA players Boy, look at what happened to mibr when they brought an NA player in. Completely fell apart. I wonder how bad things will get when they bring two in!

The only person on this team that has won a t1 event all year is the NA player they picked up hmmm I’m seeing something here. And now they are begging Tarik to replace shitzera the eco cobra hmmm

Yeah but in my prospective At least it's like taking candy from a baby don't get me wrong I understand it's money but as tier 1 pros it wasn't much of a challenge for them to acquire it these are major champions winning an event against vp and tyloo you would expect them to be battling against astralis and FaZe instead

If I were any team like Mibr I would look forward to events like this. Quick cash and good practice. Better than officials or any league play in NA. Playing hungry teams throwing actual strats every round. Just like any pro sport anyone can win on a given day. Look at BIG at the last event. What tier are they? Can't just have teams always on an even playing field otherwise it would just be boring to watch. Everyone needs someone or something to hunt for . I'm glad not everyone is stuck up and is willing to attend non huge events tho even a true tier 1 event like cologne only paid out 340k or something. Teams would be crazy not to fight to get into an event like this.

Serious question: why did MiBR decide to play in this event? Is it because there's no other good teams, with Liquid having opted to skip it? Do they think it's easy money? A $300,000 offline event with only 1 top 10 team, at least for now...
