ORDER win Gfinity Elite Series Australia S1 over Chiefs

ORDER has been crowned the Season 1 champions of Gfinity Elite Series Australia, after sweeping past Chiefs in the grand final, 3-0.

Six city-franchised teams clashed during the seven weeks of offline action that took place in front of a live audience, located at the Hoyts Entertainment Quarter in Moore Park, Sydney, Australia from June 2 to July 14.

Perth Ground Zero and Brisbane Deceptors were the first two teams to be eliminated in the BO1 round-robin group stage after five weeks in. Meanwhile, Sydney duo Chiefs and Roar advanced to the single-elimination playoffs, along with Melbourne's representatives ORDER and AVANT.

During the semis, ORDER cruised past Luke "⁠Havoc⁠" Paton's Roar in two maps, while Mohammed "⁠MoeycQ⁠" Tizani's side gave Chiefs a run for their money despite the 0-2 overtime series loss. The latter had to field two stand-ins for the entirety of the event due to tournament rules regarding VAC bans. Therefore, Tyler "⁠tucks⁠" Reilly and Matthew "⁠Texta⁠" O'Rourke were ineligible to compete for Chiefs.

In the best-of-five grand final, Chris "⁠emagine⁠" Rowlands' men crushed Chiefs in the opening map, 16-3 on Train, thanks to a dominating 12-3 half on the T-side. Iyengaran "⁠IyeN⁠" Raju and Kyran "⁠dizzyLife⁠" Crombie powered Chiefs to a close game on Cache, but ORDER secured their map pick on the thirtieth round (16-14) and the deciding map, 16-10 on Nuke.
