North have defeated AGO 2-1 to advance to the playoffs at DreamHack Open Valencia 2018 (16-14 on Overpass, 6-16 on Inferno, and 16-12 on Train).

North and AGO squared off in the Group A decider match to earn a spot in the DreamHack Open Valencia playoffs. The best-of-three match started on Overpass where AGO were on the CT-side in the first half. The Poles had a fantastic start and secured the first four rounds of the map.

Philip "aizy" Aistrup's quad kill in the fifth round put North on the scoreboard but AGO responded with another four round streak. Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen's team were able to get to five rounds before halftime and trailed 10-5.

North have secured a playoff berth

North picked up the first six rounds on the CT-side to take the lead (11-10). Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas had an AWP ace and a 1vs2 clutch in the 23rd round which gave North their 12th round (12-11). Another ace by mixwell extended his team's lead to 14-12 and North went on to close out the map 16-14.

North started Inferno with a 2-0 lead on the CT-side. AGO responded by taking six rounds in a row, the last of which came after a 1vs4 clutch by Michał "snatchie" Rudzki (6-2). Dominik "GruBy" Swiderski's 1vs3 clutch made it 7-3 and the Poles went on to win the half 12-3. AGO finished it off with a 16-6 scoreline and took the series to the third map.

AGO's tournament is over

The decider was Train which started with aizy's triple kill in the pistol round that gave the CT-sided North the 1-0 lead. Tomasz "phr" Wójcik clutched a 1vs2 in the following round to turn the tide as AGO went on to lead 6-2. North managed to recover but still trailed 8-7 at halftime.

Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså's 1vs2 clutch in the 16th round tied the game at 8-8 and North led 10-8 following two anti-eco round victories. The Danish side were dominant in the weapon rounds and won the map 16-12. With the 2-1 series victory, North have advanced to the playoffs at DreamHack Open Valencia 2018.
