Signature to miss Asia Minor; 5POWER to field three stand-ins

MIRAA
July 13th, 2018 19:57

Signature have been ruled out of the Asia Minor Championship due to visa issues, while 5POWER will be forced to attend the event with stand-ins, HLTV.org has learned.

The Thai team had earned a spot at the Minor after placing top two in the Southeast Asia open qualifier but will be a no-show at the event after their application for a visa was rejected by the British embassy.

5POWER's Thai player, Kitikawin "PTC" Rattanasukol, and Mongolian duo, Gan-Erdene "dobu" Batbold and Batbayar "kabal" Bat-Enkh, were also refused visas, forcing the team to look into their options to be able to compete at the Minor.

kaze will step in for 5POWER in London

After discussing the matter with FACEIT, 5POWER were allowed to submit three stand-ins for the event: Benjamin "moxie" Kou, ZhiHai "QKA" Fu and Andrew "kaze" Khong.

The Singaporean is mostly known for his time with BOOT-d[S], with whom he attended DreamHack Masters Malmö 2017 and the WESG 2017 Finals. QKA and kaze have both represented 5POWER in the past and are currently free agents.

Signature's withdrawal leaves Group A with just three teams, with Renegades, the highest seed of the group, being awarded a default victory, which means they will go straight to the winners' match.

The groups for the Asia Minor now look as follows:

5POWER will attend the event with the following line-up:

China Peng "xiaosaGe" Song
Singapore Daryl "insanity" Chua
Singapore Benjamin "moxie" Kou
China ZhiHai "QKA" Fu
Malaysia Andrew "kaze" Khong

The Asia Minor will run from Monday to Friday at the Twickenham Stadium, the Home of England Rugby. The competing sides will square off for two spots in the FACEIT Major's New Challengers Stage in addition to a share of the tournament's $50,000 prize fund.

would have said VG.flash had upset potential but with their coach playing instead of AttackeR they have no chance. And that wasn't even due to a visa issue.

To be honest, the story was in the end a really big mess, first peacemaker was causing problems then he said TyLoo didn't want to field him anymore, because he declined it first, like you know every story has two stories in cases like this. It's up to you if you believe one party (TyLoo or Peacemaker) or both parties and decide if it's both parties fault or just the other one is the reason.

I was aware of this reply, but like I said it's up to you to decide if you believe what TyLoo says, what Peacemaker says or if you believe both parties and make the conclusion yourself. Peacemaker said that he later contacted TyLoo and Eleague and said that it's not all about money and he would like to play instead of BnTeT in major. Also, off-topic thing, but people know that TyLoo is kind of a shady organisation and greedy, so of course at least in my eyes it makes their statements not so believable.

I know, I didn't say that he wasn't lying. Just remember that we don't have all the information about that situation, TyLoo's and peacemaker's stories were different are they lying? Of course, they are is it the organisation or is it peacemaker, who knows? If they are lying are their whole statements lies or is it mix of truth and lies? This is what makes me think, now I don't remember if TyLoo players gave any statement, but if I think they just had to keep their mouths shut and still have to because most of them are still tied to whole situation.
2018-07-13 20:47
I personally agree with XigNw0w. Peacemaker himself may have some issues in the past but so does tyloo. Earlier last year Tyloo had contract issues with fancy, attacker and Karsa. Tyloo made some fishy moves they somehow made ESL and WESG to ban fancy and attacker to attend their tournaments. Also peacemaker claimed that he decided to go to major qualifier anyway without the payment cause he want to save his already damaged reputation. But it was tyloo's decision to not attend the major qualifier.

this really is getting out of hand. what is this shit. tourney organizers have to sort things out with the embassy beforehand. First they wont let teams qualify for the minor and rather invite teams and now they aint even allowed to play. esports has to do something about this.

yeah, it feels like this happens so often including at the last major that they should make sure every team in at least the closed quals will have visas ready in case teams cant make it, thus avoiding any lack of teams

That was basically the reason to. Better to have the teams with visa problems occur during the minor instead of the major.
