valde claims DreamHack Open Valencia MVP award
Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså is the winner of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of DreamHack Open Valencia by HLTV.org and betway.
The North star turned up to the Spanish tournament in fantastic form, leading his team in their playoffs series against Fragsters and Luminosity with 1.64 and 1.88 ratings, respectively.
With his incredible playoffs showing, valde put quite some distance between himself and some of his teammates, Philip "aizy" Aistrup, Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye, and Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas, as well as Luminosity's Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato.
The 23-year-old averaged a 1.45 rating in Valencia, ending all seven of the maps North won with 1.30+ ratings. He also led the tournament's charts in several other categories, including ADR (101.2), kills per round (0.95), and KAST (83.3%), while also scoring a high amount of assists (0.18 per round).
DreamHack Open Valencia marks the first time valde secured the MVP award.
