valde claims DreamHack Open Valencia MVP award

Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså is the winner of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of DreamHack Open Valencia by HLTV.org and betway.

The North star turned up to the Spanish tournament in fantastic form, leading his team in their playoffs series against Fragsters and Luminosity with 1.64 and 1.88 ratings, respectively.

With his incredible playoffs showing, valde put quite some distance between himself and some of his teammates, Philip "aizy" Aistrup, Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye, and Oscar "mixwell" Cañellas, as well as Luminosity's Gabriel "NEKIZ" Schenato.

valde claims his first MVP award

The 23-year-old averaged a 1.45 rating in Valencia, ending all seven of the maps North won with 1.30+ ratings. He also led the tournament's charts in several other categories, including ADR (101.2), kills per round (0.95), and KAST (83.3%), while also scoring a high amount of assists (0.18 per round).

DreamHack Open Valencia marks the first time valde secured the MVP award.

well the stats clearly show something else, so you seem pretty delusional
2018-07-14 21:07
Stats can be mis leading honestly if you watched cologne electronic played 10x better than s1mple but s1mple won MVP it's just the way it is sometimes. Electronic won that tournament for Na'vi so I still feel like he got robbed, he was dominating in the playoffs quarter, semi and in finals but s1mple has higher stats cause he farmed in the group stage so yeah stats can be deceiving if you don't watch the games yourself.

He went +11 vs AGO in the BO3 and completely lead North on the semis and finals. Stop being a jerk, he was clearly levels ahead anyone else this tournament.

Obviously i'm joking around a bit but if Mixwell didn't come in clutch to stand in with them they never would have won, Obviously Valde was better but i'm just saying how key Mixwell was
2018-07-14 19:45
ok i can agree with that...mixwell was great this event but performance of valde was just superior and that mvp award is surely more than deserved

I know, MVP is awarded from what happens in the server and i completely agree with them awarding it to Valde, I'm just glad Mixwell got to lift a trophy even if it's temporary
2018-07-14 19:47
mabye they will sing him if they want to go international...as far as i know he has no contract = no buyout

NORTH is manadged very well, maybe they will do as football clubs and go for an international roster since this danish experiment didn't worked that well. Mixwell is a very good pick to start something like this. Pretty sure he'll stay in this team for a bit.
