Besiktas have ventured into Counter-Strike with the signing of the female RES squad, the Turkish club have announced.
The news brings to an end a six-month association between Zainab "zAAz" Turkie's troops and RES Gaming, who had signed the team from Dynasty at the beginning of the year.
While representing RES, the team attended two international events, Intel Challenge Katowice and Copenhagen Games, placing third and second, respectively.
Besiktas are no strangers to esports as they also have a League of Legends squad, currently competing in the Turkish Challenger Series (TCS), the second tier in the country.
The team will make their first appearance under Besiktas this weekend at the GIRLGAMER Esports Festival, a €10,000 ($11,550) tournament taking place in Estoril, Portugal, with four teams in attendance. This will also be the team's first event since bringing Petra "Petra" Stoker back and handing Anastasia "kr4sylya" Khlobystina a trial.
