mousesports edge out fnatic; to ELEAGUE playoffs

mousesports have clinched the last playoffs spot at ELEAGUE Premier after defeating fnatic 2-1 (Inferno 13-16, Train 16-14, Mirage 16-9).

Group B's decider for the last playoffs spot at ELEAGUE Premier began on Inferno, with fnatic grabbing an early advantage after securing the pistol round as Terrorists. The half went back and forth, with neither side able to break the other until mousesports clinched their third, which shredded their opponents' economy.

However, despite fending off the following forcebuy, mousesports were unable to defend a late long attack from fnatic, who only had glocks. Nonetheless, the European side managed to take the lead with three in a row before the last two went the way of the Swedes, who claimed a one-round advantage.

oskar and suNny led mousesports to the victory

That was soon gone when Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný gave his team the pistol round with a quad-kill. After suffering two ecos, fnatic scraped two rounds together to equalize the scoreline, while two fast-paced A attacks from Chris "chrisJ" de Jong & co. set the score to 12-10 in their favor.

Two saved guns in the hands of Jesper "JW" Wecksell and Robin "flusha" Rönnquist were enough to swing the momentum back, as fnatic powered to a 14-12 lead after key plays from William "draken" Sundin, Freddy "KRIMZ" Johansson, and flusha. mousesports only won a half-buy round in which Robin "ropz" Kool clutched a 1v2, but they couldn't complete the task at hand because fnatic defended the next two B attacks for the 16-13 victory on the opening map.

Train followed as mousesports' pick and it was they who got off to a flying start following Miikka "suNny" Kemppi's triple in the pistol round. The European side strolled to a 7-1 lead before fnatic fixed their defense, securing six out of the remaining seven rounds in the half.

fnatic couldn't close out the series 2-0 on Train

mousesports grabbed the second pistol round as well with fnatic opting for an A attack, but the Swedes replied in the next forcebuy and took their first lead at 10-9. ropz's triple on the inner bombsite inspired mousesports to grab two in a row, but a series of successful executes and post-plant situations saw fnatic power to 14-11.

That is when suNny's side put their foot down, with oskar and ropz making big plays including an ace from the Estonian, and came back with five in a row to force the deciding map at 16-14, 1-1.

It was all decided on Mirage, where mousesports dominated from the get-go, as they led 7-0 as CT before fnatic mustered a response on the back of a 2v4 turnaround from KRIMZ and Richard "Xizt" Landström. However, the Swedes could only secure four out of the remaining eight rounds, which saw chrisJ's squad switch over at 11-4.

Although fnatic attempted to come back with the pistol round and the first gunround going their way in the second half, once mousesports grabbed their first they never let go, closing out the match 16-9, 2-1.

snax didnt have the greatest day but also he was very unlucky through each match. he would always play the site that the other team barely went to and would entry frag and get killed for info all the time, plus he would be on B on inferno by himself when all of Fnatic stacked it. hopefully he can be a bit better vs astralis even though i want astralis to win

Lmao hes on negative and even tho it doesn't necessarily mean that he played bad(imo he played well in inferno) but you can't seriously say he played well if hes that much negative AND with the lowest rating 2.0 of the match.

For a team win is a win, for individual frags matter or why do you think mouz won? Because they had some individuals who got frags. In this game the individuals were sunny, oskar and ropz. If they didn't get those frags they would have lost.

I'd blame draken: he died way too often by being too aggressive and not allowing for trading. AWPers might be aggressive but only if your aggression is more or less safe. I really wanted Fanatic to win but not this time I guess. They looked promising though.
