Gambit see off Grayhound in Shanghai

Gambit have beaten Grayhound 2-0 to eliminate them at IEM Shanghai (16-7 on Dust2 and 16-12 on Overpass).

The Group B elimination match featuring Grayhound and Gambit kicked off on Dust2 with the Oceanic team on the T-side. Erdenetsogt "erkaSt" Gantulga and Ollie "DickStacy" Tierney wrapped up the pistol round with their double kills and Grayhound made it 3-0 after winning the anti-ecos.

Gambit’s defense was nearly impenetrable during the weapon rounds as the CIS team secured nine of the twelve remaining first half rounds to win the half 9-6. Grayhound picked up the second half pistol victory but Gambit grabbed seven rounds in a row to win the map 16-7.

Gambit stayed alive in Shanghai

Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov got a quad kill in the pistol round on Overpass where Gambit won the first four rounds on the T-side. After Grayhound's first round win, Gambit reset them by winning a 2vs4, extending their lead to 5-1. The CIS team led 11-4 at halftime.

Grayhound won a 3vs5 in the second half pistol round and trailed 11-7 after taking two anti-eco rounds. Gambit shut down a B-rush in the first weapon round as Dosia got a double kill, making it 12-7. Gambit won the map 16-12 and the series 2-0, moving on to the Group B decider match against BOOT-d[S].
