Ten teams for StarSeries i-League S6 revealed

fnatic, NiP, and North are some of the squads that confirmed their attendance at the upcoming StarLadder event.

StarSeries i-League S6 will take place on October 7-14 in Kiev, Ukraine, where 16-teams are set to compete for a $300,000 prize pool. Up until now, only two teams for the event were known, the respective champions of the North American and European qualifiers NRG and Fragsters.

draken and co. will be playing at the event in Kiev

Now, the tournament organizer revealed 10 teams that will be playing the event. Firstly, six squads, placed 9th-18th in our rankings, joined the list as invited teams. fnatic, NiP, North, Renegades, HellRaisers, and Gambit were the teams that made the cut.

The full list of the six invited teams is available below:

StarSeries also announced a change to the spot distribution in the regional qualifiers for Europe and North America. Instead of each region only having one spot, North America now has two, while Europe has four.

nexa's Imperial will attend StarSeries despite their loss in the final of the qualifier

That means that the runner-up in NA, Complexity, and the teams that finished top-4 in Europe — Sprout, Imperial and OpTic — will also be attending StarSeries i-League S6.

The four qualifier teams that will now be playing the event are:

With all of these teams confirmed, 12 out of 16 teams for StarSeries i-League S6 are now known. Two more slots are reserved for invites, while the likes of TYLOO and MVP PK are vying for the two final spots which are reserved for the Asia qualifier.

The full team list for StarSeries i-League S6 is as follows:

But navi is already qualified. However if that scenario were possible it wouldnt make the major tier 2 because literally every other top 10 team is there besides NRG but it would certainly reduce the prestige of it and likely mean a lot less if a team like faze or mouz won.

ESL BH is t2, but ECS is t1 because it had a qualifier for top teams.only top 4 teams from those qualifers in NA and EU made it.

theatrically if the qualifier makes it a tier 1 event, does that mean if only teams out of the top 10 qualify does it still make it a tier 1 event? ECS S5 and ECS S5 Finals are different events
2018-08-14 12:35
#142
 |
United Arab Emirates p1peb0mb
yes it will becasue they qualified over other top teams. every team had equal chance in those qulifiers and if these teams played better than those top teams in that tournament and qualified over them,it will be a t1 tournament. same goes to any tournament like major or epl or wesg which have real qualification process unlike events like katowice where they invite a fixed number of top teams first.
2018-08-14 12:43

 |
United Arab Emirates p1peb0mb
so consider astralis and navi are top2 by the time of next major but they fail in qualifiers. does that mean that major is t2? also if there was no astralis & navi in eleague, will you consider it t2 if it had top 3-10 teams t1 and t2 are decided based on number of top teams and qulaifiying process etc. not just top 1 or top 2 teams.

they don't. only navi and astralis have more than 500 points. if fnatic win a big event, they can even reach top 3-4 easily. same with nip. not sure about nip is playing, but fnatic is down becasue they lost 2/5 their points from lekro andgolden. they also only gone to 3 events in last 3 monts with roster changing compared to mibr who gone to 7 events and have similar points. if fnatic din't change their roster, they would have bben top 6 now. and they can easily reach top 5 performing decently in the coming tournaments. hltv.org/ranking/teams/2018/august/13

Surely we will see tier 1 teams in this. why would they decline an invite to a 300K event with so many lower tier teams, big opportunity
2018-08-14 13:15
too many starladers it feel like its a starladder every 2 week it lost the prestigious.its same as a dreamhack open now
2018-08-14 14:37

Awesome talent-pool! It's a tier-two tournament at best, but it looks like it'll be incredible. I SO wish fnatic and NiP duke it out with their current teams. :D

More like "OpenSeries T2-3 i-League S6" Automatically letting losers in who were lost in the qualifiers because almost every TOP10 teams rejected the invites? LOL 300k is nothing special even for T2 events these days. LOL And obviously top teams doesn't like going to Kiev. LOL HOW TO STEP UP FOR A NEXT SEASON? INCREASE YOUR PRIZE POOL TO AT LEAST 500K! CONSIDER CHANGING THE LOCATION!
