ZOTAC Cup Masters viewer's guide
With action in Hong Kong set to kick off tomorrow, we've compiled all the information you'll need to enjoy the first event of the season.
Boasting a 300,000$ prize pool, the ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018 Grand Finals will take place from August 24-26 at the Hong Kong Convention and Exhibition Center.
The event will feature eight teams in a single elimination bracket, with all games except the grand final being best-of-threes. The match to crown the champions will be a best-of-five.
MIBR are the highest-ranked team at ZOTAC Cup Masters 2018 at #7, as well as the favourites to win it. It will be their first LAN event after adding Janko "YNk" Paunović as their new head coach. Also present in Hong Kong are OpTic who have shown that they are a force to be reckoned with when they manage to utilize the talents of their young stars Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke and Jakob "JUGi" Hansen, recently qualifying for the FACEIT Major after taking second place at the EU Minor.
Having added Michał "snatchie" Rudzki after losing Janusz "Snax" Pogorzelski to mousesports, Virtus.pro will look to do damage and prove that they can turn things around after many months of dissappointing results. TYLOO are also a team to watch, the Chinese recently qualifying for the Major and reaching the grand final of IEM Shanghai 2018.
