OpTic overrun fnatic; MIBR defeat HellRaisers in Stockholm

OpTic got their first win at DreamHack Masters by taking care of fnatic swiftly (16-6 Train), while MIBR closed out the game against HellRaisers comfortably despite the latter's second-half resistance (16-11 Dust2).

Nicklas "gade" Gade opened up the game between OpTic and fnatic with a p250 double, getting his team the much needed good start on the T-side of Train. OpTic backed that up with anti-eco wins and the first gun round to go 5-0 up.

Throughout the losing streak, Robin "flusha" Rönnquist was putting a dent into the Danes economy, though, allowing fnatic to break the money of Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer and co. after winning just two rounds.

k0nfig was a thorn in fnatic's side throughout the game

fnatic only managed to string three rounds together, as the combination of Jakob "JUGi" Hansen and Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke started tearing through the Swede's defenses, getting picks round after round. OpTic's errors were punished at the end of the half, fnatic secured their fifth round with just pistols (10-5), but some great USP-S shots from the game back into control of the Danes.

OpTic survived a scary anti-eco and got up to 15 rounds straight away, closing the game 16-6 as k0nfig denied the last-second bomb plant from flusha in the last round.

With Issa "ISSAA" Murad's three USP-S headshots, HellRaisers won the CT pistol on Dust2, but a force-buy from MIBR stole away the following round. The Brazilian-American side took control from there, securing five unanswered rounds. HellRaisers then managed two rounds in a short succession, but still, they weren't able to build up an economy at all (6-3).

MIBR then reset the international squad and took back the control of the half, finishing it 11-4 up. Marcelo "coldzera" David only added to his tally, and his team's one as well, after halftime. HellRaisers ran into MIBR's two-man short setup and coldzera found all five kills, destroying his opposition.

coldzera secured his team a couple of key rounds

Bence "DeadFox" Böröcz and Vladyslav "bondik" Nechyporchuk combined with a force-buy to give their side a fighting chance on the T side of Dust2. Four rounds in a row won by HellRaisers broke MIBR's economy, but coldzera upset them with a quick Deagle 3K, and with Kirill "ANGE1" Karasiow's team falling apart in the following round, in a 5v4 afterplant on A, MIBR reached map point (15-8). HellRaisers' resistance was short-lived, and they fell to 16-11 in the end.
