Na`Vi edge past NRG; TYLOO defeat Grayhound
Group B's elimination match pitted Natus Vincere against NRG, two top 10 teams fighting for survival after being defeated in the first round of the tournament. The opening map, Inferno, was Na`Vi's pick, but things quickly went sour for the Ukrainian team, who looked well off the face for most of the game.
Starting out on the CT side of the map, Na`Vi took the pistol and an anti-eco to secure an early lead, but a successful buy from NRG in the third round tipped the scales in the North Americans' favour. For the rest of the half, NRG cut through the Ukrainian defence like hot knife through butter, with the half ending with a one-sided 12-3 scoreline.
Natus Vincere looked much livelier after switching to the Terrorist side and won six of the opening seven rounds of the half, bringing the scoreline to 9-13. But then NRG put their foot down and held back the Na`Vi offence, hitting map point on the back of a spectacular quad-kill from Damian "daps" Steele. With no room for error, Na`Vi tried to push for overtime, but they ran out of gas two rounds too early and collapsed as they attempted to push the B site.
Next up was Overpass, NRG's map pick, where the North Americans jumped out to a 5-1 lead on the Terrorist side. Na`Vi then got their second on the board, but a massive blunder on their part saw NRG get an open path to the A site and win an eco round.
A quad-kill from Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev in the second half pistol restored parity once more and set Na`Vi up for a great run. Down 8-12, NRG tightened up their defence a bit and picked up two rounds in a row, but their economy remained in poor shape, leaving them unable to contest the map.
It all came down to Train, where Na`Vi got out to a fast 3-0 lead on the Terrorist side. After NRG bought up, however, the flow of the game changed immediately, with the North Americans eventually levelling the score with an ace from Ethan "Ethan" Arnold.
NRG's fantastic run continued, with the scoreline blooming to a 5-3 advantage. That streak would come to an end in the next round, though, as Ioann "Edward" Sukhariev opened up the A site with a trio of kills. The rest of the half was highly contested, with rounds going back and forth before Edward gave Na`Vi the edge with a sensational 1v4 clutch.
The North American team responded by winning the first three rounds of the second half, but Natus Vincere took control of proceedings once they had money in the bank, winning five rounds in a row.
daps called a tactical pause in a bid to halt Na`Vi's momentum, but the Ukrainian side refused to let their foot off the gas and immediately countered every round that went NRG's way, eventually locking down the map in the 28th round.

Meanwhile, TYLOO and Grayhound faced off in an Asia-Pacific showdown that came to an end after two quick maps. TYLOO were far too hot for their opponents to handle and did not even let the Australian side, who were fielding Kristjan "fejtZ" Allsaar as a stand-in, reach double digits.
Both maps were fairly similar as TYLOO cruised to 10-5 half-time leads as CTs before quickly wrapping things up on the T side, with HaoWen "somebody" Xu leaving the charge for the Chinese side throughout the series.
