Heroic eliminate OpTic in Stockholm; to face NiP in playoffs

Heroic won Nuke 16-12 and Train 16-13 to clinch a spot in the quarter-finals at the Ericsson Globe against NiP.

OpTic kicked Nuke off by making it into the A site quickly, with Marco "Snappi" Pfeiffer winning a 1vs2 afterplant situation to get his team ahead in the Danish derby. Doubles by Daniel "mertz" Mertz and Andreas "MODDII" Fridh with pistols on the forcebuy round tied it up. Having lost the two following rounds, OpTic were finally able to get it within one after taking the first gun round. Heroic then took the reins of their map pick on the defense, stopping OpTic’s attacks with all players contributing to an 8-2 lead. That lead would be short-lived as OpTic charged back winning the last five rounds to make it a one round match.

The second pistol round was a back-and-forth affair on A site, but it was OpTic with the USPs that came out ahead to bring it to a tie. After having won the two anti-ecos, OpTic kept the roll going as Kristian "k0nfig" Wienecke got a triple to stop Heroic on their tracks. The following pistol buy went the way of Heroic as they won four of five duels to stay in the match. Winning three in a row, Heroic made it even, 11-11.

Heroic were able to knock OpTic out in two maps

Heroic then entered upper after one trade, forcing OpTic’s four remaining players to save for the following round. The save was a good call, as a triple by Nicklas "gade" Gade then brought it back to 12-12, but OpTic was then reset as Heroic took B and bombed the site successfully. A huge four-kill round by mertz in a 3vs5 got Heroic up 14-12, clearing out the path for his team to win the first map, 16-12.

Heroic were able to stop a B push by OpTic in B Halls of Train with some aggression of their own. After a strong 4-0 start for the CTs, OpTic were able to win three rounds in a row to keep the score close before Heroic found their footing again and took a 7-3 lead early on in the map denying OpTic over and over again. This time around, OpTic were unable to bring it back late in the first half as Heroic took a crucial lead before the switch, 12-3.

A pistol round away from virtually winning the match, a botched play on A which saw Jakob "JUGi" Hansen come on top in a knife fight against Adam "friberg" Friberg, OpTic managed to win the round and stay alive. OpTic put up a wall of their own, winning five rounds in a row before giving one up to Heroic. Snappi & co. then won two more, making it 10-13, before friberg and Patrick "es3tag" Hansen won a 2vs2 afterplant from heaven on A to make it 14-10.

Heroic then lost three out of four rounds, going on eco with 15-13 on the board, but OpTic were unable to mount the comeback as three Desert Eagle kills by mertz, es3tag, and friberg cleared the way for Heroic to take round, map, and series, to qualify for the playoffs.

cuz OpTic pick these line-up for being atleast top10 team, not losing vs tier2 teams, but somehow Snappi and JUGI lose to their previous team.

2018-08-31 18:54
Yes? I said they've improved alot. And fnatic have 2 new players, it will take time before they are good.

heroic's players are basically leftovers but they still played better than fnatic. They've done EXTREMELY WELL with the resources they have.
2018-08-31 19:06
Yes, I agree. I think they did the right call in getting friberg - which is something I thought I never would say :D They needed more experience in the team and now they look WAY WAY better than expected.

There he is. There he goes again. Look, everyone! He posted it once again! Isn't he just the funniest guy around?! Oh my God. I can almost see your pathetic overweight frame glowing in the dark, lit by your computer screen which is the only source of light in your room, giggling like a girl as you once again type your little "finland isn't real" quip. I imagine you little shit laughing so hard as you click it that you drop your Doritos on the floor, but it's okay, your mother will clean it up in the morning. Oh that's right. Did I fail to mention? You live with your mother. You are a fat fucking fuckup, she's probably so sick of you already. So sick of having to do everything for you all goddamn day, every day, for a grown man who spends all his time on reddit posting about a nordic country. Just imagine this. She had you, and then she thought you were gonna be a scientist or an astronaut or something grand, and then you became a "finland isn't real" poster. A pathetic unfunny "finland isn't real" poster. She probably cries herself to sleep everyday thinking about how bad it is and how she wishes she could just disappear. She can't even try to talk with you because everything you say is "FINLAND ISN'T REAL FINLAND ISN'T REAL EASTERN SWEDEN LMAO". You've become a parody of your own self. Amd that's all you are. A sad little man laughing in the dark by himself as he prepares to indulge in the same old dance that he's done a million times now. And that's all you'll ever be.

The perfect example how different a player can be in a team. Mertz has been playing great with the Heroic bois. Earlier they actually benched es3tag, now dude is, at least at times, a wrecking ball. When the team just clicks every player can play to their full potential. Been an adamant basher of botberg but he might just be what the team needed.
2018-08-31 20:31
Kinda weird when u imagine Heroic basically lost their 3 main players and they become better ( snappi, jugi, niko) mertz with es3tag are such an underrated players . MSL was right, mertz need more experience and i belive in 1 year will be fighting head to head with device with awp .and this guy es3tag can do anyhing,he can awp,he can igl,he can rifler, he can even be support but this didnt worked out since snappi used him like that and he was really bad
