North send Na`Vi packing in Stockholm

North have defeated Natus Vincere 2-0 to secure their place in the DreamHack Masters Stockholm semi-finals (16-3 on Train and 16-9 on Inferno).

Natus Vincere took on North in the fourth quarter-final at DreamHack Masters Stockholm. The best-of-three series kicked off on Train with the Danes on the CT-side. Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså's double kill brought the pistol round to North who made it 4-0 with the first weapon round victory.

Natus Vincere hit back in the sixth round, winning their first thanks to a 2vs3 victory by Aleksandr "s1mple" Kostyliev and Danylo "Zeus" Teslenko (5-1). However, North ran away with the half to take it 12-3. Philip "aizy" Aistrup secured the second half pistol round with a quad kill and the Danish side went on to close out the map 16-3.

North are through to the semis

aizy started the action on Inferno with a pistol round triple kill, giving the CT-sided North a 1-0 lead. s1mple got a triple kill in a 2vs4 in the third round to get his team's first and later on Natus Vincere led 6-2 following a six round streak.

Mathias "MSL" Lauridsen's triple kill with a Deagle in the ninth round ended the streak and his AWP quad kill gave the lead back to North in the 13th round (7-6). The Danes finished the half 8-7 ahead and secured the first three second half rounds to extend their lead to 11-7.

Zeus & co. only managed to get two rounds in the second half and North finished off Inferno 16-9, winning the series 2-0 and advancing to the semi-finals where they will face mousesports.

+1 Go break Astralis' streak and start a NaVi era, while you get dominated by the second best Danish team
2018-09-01 22:32
Edward got 12 Kills over the course of 44 rounds, which comes down to a kill every 3 2/3 rounds. He also almost managed to get a Rating 2.0 of under 0.5. No hate on Edward, but Na‘Vi should consider replacing him, Rainer „Drachenlord“ Winkler would be a good replacement, though then the entire team would need to learn to speak German.
2018-09-02 08:21
The problem is that Rainer "Drachenlord" Winkler can not even speak proper german. He speaks pretty fluent england.

North looked on point today. Hitting every shot and playing so well together. If they played like this every match they would be top 3 for sure. Navi on the other hand lookes flat and uninspired. If simple does not get going straight out the gate they come unstuck and almost seem to get pissed off with each other. I think this is the last we see flame in a Navi shirt. Even Edward too for that matter. Simple and electronic are carrying alot of dead weight that have had plenty of chances to improve.

No, its confirmed he will play the major in NaVi. But there surely needs to be something wrong in that team (maybe toxicity?) I dont know, but those strategies and teamwork didnt work today at all North on the other hand played fantasticly, great both individual and team plays. Wish this team good luck, Aizy and MSL deserve it more than anyone else.

All the MLS haters are lying on the floor in feateal positions rocking back and forth with thumbs in mouth, trying to go to their happy place. But there is no escape. North is ROCKING this show now, defeating #1 and #2 in the world - while MSL himself is tearing p1mple a new one with the AWP. Éffing him up in streight duels, collecting 11(!) opening kills, against s1mples 1, is just batshit crazy. Buckle up, this could turn out to be quite a ride...
2018-09-01 23:43
He's still one of the worst fragging leaders which is the most important. He's no match for gla1ve or FalleN but he played nicely this time, once in a while.
2018-09-02 05:17
Could I possibly get you to repeat that you think he is a bad fragger, while he is waving his HLTV MVP award around? xD Just for the record, I’m not saying that he has always been this good, i’m just talking about what seems to be the new and improved version of MSL.
2018-09-03 00:08

Well, NaVi came to this tournament in bad shape. I expected them to get better and better throughout the tournament, but they really struggled in every match. Only two players from NaVi showed some passion: s1mple and, surprisingly, Zeus. Overall good tactics but bad mechanics by NaVi. Going one by one without opportunity to trade frags, mediocre aim and slow decision making. Also, Flamie is underperforming for a long time now. Lower impact because of position change and new role is understandable, but his performance dropped by a lot. He disappears from a map too often now. And he is a player that should win aim battles against best players in the world, not just perform on "ok" level.

Navi hitting new low... The saddest part is there are no new better players (in Ukraine) to replace some dead weight in Navi...

All big three teams faze astralis and navi are saving strats for major. How cant you see that? If i had the most crucial tournament of the year in 20 days ofc i would just practise random stuff and new tactics in a lesser one
