crush: "We didn't play much [officially] because we wanted to find our game"
Vega Squadron are coming into the New Challengers stage as a big question mark, as they haven't played an official match since late June.
It's been a few months since you came into the roster and you have barely played anything since then, so how have you accommodated into the roster and how do you mesh together?
We didn't play much because we wanted to find our game, we were changing roles and that stuff. I think we are pretty ready for this, we played for about a month before the player break and after that, we had a small break and we were playing from our homes. Before the Major, we had a one-week bootcamp.
Is there something you have focused on?
We were really trying to find our game, not like to steal anything from other teams, just to find a game that will be comfortable for us. And I think we almost found it, I'm pretty sure it's comfortable for everyone, we'll see how it goes.
You weren't in the team at the time, but previously, Vega Squadron have always been able to surprise us, how confident do you feel about being able to do that again?
I'm actually pretty confident because CS is now in a state where everyone can surprise on the scene, it doesn't matter. Even if we take DreamHack Masters a few days ago, Astralis were struggling against lower-tier teams as the best team in the world, they had problems. I don't know, everyone can surprise, actually. I think if we play our best, we can win against almost any team.
Who do you see as your biggest opponents here?
We are our biggest opponent. I don't feel any pressure yet, maybe it will come, I don't know - if we struggle, we can lose every game. There are obviously some of the best teams, Astralis and Liquid in this stage, they are the favorites of course, but I think we can win against any team.
So it's mostly about overcoming the pressure?
Yeah, it's about pressure and confidence in our game and in myself.
