ESL One New York groups determined

The draw for the group stage of ESL One New York has been made, with the eight competing sides having been split into two groups.

Natus Vincere, the highest-ranked side in attendance, have been drawn in Group A, together with another top five team, mousesports, as well as fnatic and Gambit.

Liquid and FaZe, current No.3 and No.5 in the world, headline Group B, which is completed by NRG and G2.

Liquid up against NRG in the first round

ESL One New York will run from September 26-30, with the playoffs being held at the Barclays Center in front of a live audience. The group stage will feature a double-elimination, best-of-three format, and will determine the four sides progressing to the playoffs, which will culminate with a best-of-five final.

The event will have $250,000 on the line and is part of the Intel Grand Slam Season 1, which is currently led by FaZe and Astralis, who have two victories apiece.

The groups for the North American event look as follows:

Its a shame that 2 top tier tournaments are held on the same time period. That's why I think that valve should regulate the tournaments like riot games. But ofc there are also disadvantages (like for low tier teams have less chance to approve themselve)
