Kevin "kRYSTAL" Amend is motivated to find a new home, the German player announced via Twitter.
The 25-year-old revealed in a Twitlonger post his trials and tribulations from the past year regarding lineup changes, from reaching the Major under Sprout, his frustrations being benched on Imperial, and not making the cut with Ghost.
Towards the end of 2017, kRYSTAL formed and signed with Sprout, which he led in the New Challenger Stage at the ELEAGUE Major Boston, but, in the end, issues with leadership and differences between him and his compatriots resulted in the players going their separate ways, leaving Amend "frustrated."
Shortly after, kRYSTAL led the team to a DreamHack Open Summer title and a semi-final appearance at the ZOTAC Cup Masters Europe Finals, but a falling out with Rokas "EspiranTo" Milasauskas over changes to his "structure and theory" resulted in the 25-year-old being benched.
It wasn't long after Ghost's captain Joshua "steel" Nissan reached out to kRYSTAL and offered a trial, in which the German player flew to North America and had a one-week bootcamp, before placing third at ZOTAC Cup Masters and reaching a 9-12th place-finish at DreamHack Masters Stockholm. However, he soon found out that his place on the team "most likely wouldn't work out."
"Everything that happened made me the person and the player that I am today. Everytime I had a negative time in my CS career I stood up and bounced back - because I choose so. Found my own way to get back out there and find a new team.
[...] I'm motivated and willing to go the extra mile, always. People say hard work always pay off - so here I am - again looking for a new team. I am very excited and hyped. I want to grind. I want to get better individually and as a team. I hope I get another chance."
Being benched in Imperial and the Ghost trial not working out in the end, im writing again to find a new home. Im extremly motivated, always been. I bring a lot of experience and dedication with me. Hit me up.— Kevin Amend (@kRYSTALcsgoo) September 25, 2018
