Twistzz earns ESL One New York MVP medal
Liquid star Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken is the winner of the Most Valuable Player (MVP) award of ESL One New York 2018 by HLTV.org and betway.
The 18-year-old was already the frontrunner in the race for the award prior to the final and further enhanced his credentials with a 1.34 rating over the best-of-five series - which, however, did not prevent his team from losing the match 3-2.
Twistzz leaves New York with a 1.36 tournament rating - a career-high when it comes to Big Events. He finished all but one of the 12 maps that he played with 1+ ratings, peaking in his team's 16-3 victory over Gambit, in which he had a 2.23 rating.

With his grand final performance, the Canadian beat off competition from MOUZ trio Miikka "suNny" Kemppi, Tomáš "oskar" Šťastný and Chris "chrisJ" de Jong, who were all in the running but did not stand out enough to challenge the Liquid talent.
This is Twistzz's very first MVP medal, and it highlights the rich vein of form the player is presently in, with an average 1.25 rating on LAN over the last three months.
