poem departs SCARZ Absolute

SCARZ Absolute have announced the departure of Shibasaki "poem" Yumeki, according to the Japanese organisation on Twitter.

The sudden news comes to light following SCARZ Absolute's victory at the GALLERIA GAMEMASTER Cup 2018 yesterday, where they had earned the right to represent Japan at eXTREMESLAND 2018 Asia Finals and IESF World Championship.

The aforementioned 21-year-old was temporarily absent from competition due to personal issues, forcing the Japanese side to use their coach Ryu "Reita" Oshiro as a stand-in since August 15. poem did have a brief return a week later, filling in for Koji "Laz" Ushida during the IEM Chicago 2018 Asian closed qualifier.

poem's two-year run with SCARZ Absolute comes to an end

In the announcement, the organisation revealed that poem tried to improve his in-game performance as an entry fragger during his downtime, which had been lowered by his personal life and weakened mentality. However, his current form is not enough to continue playing under the team and has decided to part ways.

He has contributed immensely to the roster's domination of the local Japanese scene for the past two years, qualifying for several international events including WESG 2017 World Finals. They were one of the few Asian teams to take a couple of maps off reigning Asia Minor champions Renegades in London three months ago.

Here is the English version of poem's tweet translated by Keijiro "shoushi" Sugimoto, which was released six hours prior to the official announcement:

"This is quite sudden but I leave SCARZ Absolute. Since I joined the team, I experienced various things during my two years here. It was really fun!

"By the way, I'm going to travel all around Japan when I'm ready to return. As I want to change my miserable self. That's all I can say until the official statement is released.
From now on, I'm also one of the supporters who will cheer for SCARZ Absolute."

After a month and half as a substitute, coach Reita is expected to be his permanent replacement moving forward. SCARZ Absolute's roster currently looks as follows:

Japan Tomoaki "crow" Maruoka
Japan Koji "Laz" Ushida
Japan Ryo "barce" Takebayashi
Japan Takemori "takej" Shogo
Japan Ryu "Reita" Oshiro

It's more cultural. The Japanese are some of the most unhappy people in the world due to how strict and rigid their culture is.

barce is not good either, imo. Laz and takej are the strongest players in this team. crow is fine. dont know about the coach tho, but theyre probably gonna get some new player?

laz is the only outstanding player in this team. Top fragger, main awper and the IGL...

top fragger yes. main awper is not "outstanding", its just a role. and the igl is probably their coach now
2018-10-01 13:09
Theirs IGL is crow since Asia minor.
2018-10-01 16:01
If they look at new players they will 100% set their sites on an Ignis player.

definitely, yes. theres not many players to choose from in japan, anyway :D
2018-10-01 13:17

Exactly, I think a mix of Ignis and Scarz players could be a hope for Japan to get a better spot within the game. I'd personally like to say - Norisen (Main AWP) - neth (Entry Frag) - Laz (IGL/Secondary AWP) - RIPablo Escobar (Refrag and Rifler) - takej/barce/crow (Support) couldn't really decide on support but yeah this could be a half decent lineup that might actually qualify for a few international events

maybe. I think takej is def top3 japanese player and hes young too
2018-10-01 14:41
lol, this isn't a very good roster. laz is a top3 awper in all of asia, no way you should take him off the awp. his rifle is alright but he baits a lot with it, he has so much impact with the awp it's insane. takej imo is a requirement for the japanese superteam. there really isn't any standout IGL in japan right now so i'm not sure who would be best, so i would make the lineup: laz (awp) neth, ripablo, takej, barce rifles and maybe ripablo IGL? or laz? idk.
2018-10-02 08:13

Fell back on the roster a bit, yeah I think it is important to keep Laz on AWP, this is why you don't make rosters when tired. I'd say that is a good fix to the team, barce is a pretty strong player.
2018-10-02 13:28
Good luck in the future poem, you server Scarz well. In the future perhaps they could look towards neth, Norisen, or Ripablo Escobar? I think all 3 of those could be strong players for the team.
