ECS Challenger Cup NA qualifying spots increased as SK pull out of league

October 2nd, 2018 22:49

The number of qualifying spots for ECS in North America has increased from two to three after SK Gaming decided to forfeit their place in the league, FACEIT has revealed to

The move comes with little surprise as SK, who lost their highly-successful Brazilian squad to MIBR in June, had already transferred their ESL Pro League spot to INTZ, whose team were at one point heavily linked with the German organisation.

compLexity through to ECS, while MIBR will need to beat Gorilla Gang

compLexity and AZIO, who had reached the upper bracket final of the Challenger Cup, are now automatically through to the ECS league, with the final qualifying spot due to be contested by MIBR and Gorilla Gang in the tournament's lower bracket final.

The team list for ECS Season 6 North America currently looks as follows:

He is the igl and a good fragger. Although he’s banned he’s very valuable

Germany MyDadOwnsHLTV
Ofc he's valuable, but there are talented young players that could be playing way bigger tournaments. Since valve cares more about skins than cheating, kicking him must be a common thought of the team
2018-10-03 00:07
#42 said what I think. I know that he is very important for the team but still, if they can’t play the most of tourneaments their level will slowly descrease

That hasnt proven to be true and theres still plenty of tournament they can and have attended.

Meh, I wanted to see him play and win the Toyota thing... would be hilarious (._.') sadly they failed to qualify.

LOL... just look at the qualifying path for AZIO... xD and mibr still need to win a b03 to qualify...
2018-10-02 22:57
Shame on faceit, they made mibr go through the lower bracket by making the challenger cup at the same time that they were at Istanbul
2018-10-02 23:00
None of MIBR's matches were scheduled during the actual BPS event. It's MIBR's fault for not factoring the qualifier into their schedule. The match they forfeited was on the 25th and BPS was from the 28-29. There is no way they couldn't have moved their schedule around to make that work or if that really wasn't possible talk to faceit about it. Other teams have had events close to each other in the past and have found ways to make it work.
2018-10-02 23:49
This is not a MiBR fault, they sayed don't wanted play the ECS upper bracket, they're skipped that match and don't play ECS league at all, but Faceit come to org and gave to them a second chance rescheduling the lower bracket matchs to fit in Mibr scheduler
2018-10-03 01:07
I was trying to make the point to #15 that what happened isn't Faceit's fault but you are right to correct me since it wasn't MIBRs fault, rather as you said they chose not to play in the upper bracket. I should have been more clear that my point was they could have found a way to work it into their schedule though this may have not been a possibility.
2018-10-03 02:54
Ofc they can do it work, but i think fallen don't want argue with ECS about matches bc what happened last year with ECS and ESL, they has foccused on BPS and give up of ECS, so ECS come back and try make this work. I think both side is wrong and this prejudicated all lower teams

AZIO has to up their hands with the first match against MIBR on a date that they couldn´t play. If not, they´ll suffer much more to qualify.

Jesus Christ, what a mess... First MIBR forfeiting the qualifier, then having their match kindly rescheduled by faceit to play in the lower bracket, now a third spot opens up and it just falls onto fucking AZIO's lap. Nice season.

Would still make for a great experience for the boys. Excited to see where this goes for the sheer fact that they are the SoaR Gaming core that made Pro League Also helps that they are one of only two NA teams in NA ECS (in which case why is it NA ECS with 2/12 NA teams)
2018-10-02 23:32
Azio next dignitas, will lose all matches Edit: with the exception of those who forfeit against them because of schedule conflicts
2018-10-03 00:35
I don't care if they lose all matches. Again, it will be good experience for them. They will vastly improve from this

2018-10-02 23:29
Banned, because of Steel. Maybe now that Faceit had their chance to host a major and they fucked it up tremendously, they'll stop sucking off Valve and they'll unban him.

Azio is gonna get stomped, then tilted and eventually disband. Literally Dignitas 2.0 but worse. Rather bravado get a fair shot because at least they're not a free win to every team.
