Fragsters beat Gambit, NRG edge out North in 1-0 pool
Gambit started on the CT side of Dust2 and picked up a clean pistol round, but Fragsters' forcebuy saw the momentum shift towards the Danes, who clinched the following rounds after setting a quick pace to the match.
Dauren "AdreN" Kystaubayev was a thorn in their side in the next two, grabbing six kills to set the scoreline at 3-5, but Fragsters were quickly back on the horse, with Nicolai "torben" Amorim's triple and a 1v1 clutch inspiring the Danish side to go on another five-round streak. Gambit stopped it with an A retake, while the last round went the other way for an 11-4 half in favor of Fragsters.
Mihail "Dosia" Stolyarov & co. secured the second pistol to get within four rounds of their opponents, but the first gunrounds went the way of Ismail "refrezh" Ali's team, who retook each bombsite once before Jacob "dragonfly" Lund clutched a 1v2 to reach 14 rounds.
One round going the other way was enough to break Fragsters' economy, with Gambit closing the gap to three. However, they weren't able to hunt down the last two players in the 26th round and saved AWPs got the Danes to match point and, shortly after, the 16-11 victory.

The last match of the day saw NRG win the first pistol round as Terrorists on Inferno to start taking control of the match. Despite struggles against the Danes' forcebuys, the North American squad racked up a 7-1 lead after breaking their opponents in the second gunround.
Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte then added a 1v3 clutch on top of the big advantage, inspiring NRG to grab five more rounds before North finally put two on the board, but that already seemed like too little, too late.
However, the Danish squad clinched the pistol round as well as the first gunround to close the gap to 12-7. NRG then made a halfbuy work and got to 14 rounds, but the match was far from over, as North took over with a couple of fast-paced strategies and reached double digits.
With a great play for information, NRG clinched match point with three saved weapons. Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså delayed the loss with a 1v3 clutch, but Damian "daps" Steele's team replied immediately, punishing North's aggression to secure their second win in the Swiss group stage at 16-12.
