BIG, Vega Squadron move on to Swiss round 5 in Kiev
BIG and Vega Squadron are through to the fifth round of the Swiss stage at StarSeries i-League Season 6 after defeating TYLOO and Gambit, respectively.
The first match of the 1-2 pool of teams began with a dominant start from BIG, who cruised to a 5-0 lead as Terrorists. TYLOO, who entered the game with confidence running high as they were on a 6-0 LAN run on Cache over the last three months, then finally tightened up their defence, winning three of the next four rounds, but they were surprised by an eco from BIG, with Owen "smooya" Butterfield clutching a 1v3 with a p250.
BIG regained control of proceedings after that and increased their lead to 10-4 before HaoWen "somebody" Xu rescued TYLOO with a 1v2 clutch to keep the team's comeback hopes alive.
However, things quickly went from bad to worse for TYLOO, who got shut down as they entered the A site by Johannes "tabseN" Wodarz in the pistol round. A third-round buy from TYLOO put the Chinese side back in the game, but they were instantly traded by a BIG side on a very weak buy.
The German side rode that momentum and quickly hit map point, but TYLOO fought back as Kevin "xccurate" Susanto and Hansel "BnTeT" Ferdinand overturned a 2v4 situation. The Asian side continued pressing on in search for overtime, but their resistance was finally broken in the 26th round.

Next up was an all-CIS clash between Gambit and Vega Squadron. The PGL Major Krakow champions gave a poor account of themselves on the Terrorist side and were limited to just four rounds after watching their economy get constantly reset by the Russians.
After switching to the offensive side, Vega Squadron piled more misery on their opponents and further added to their lead after winning the opening three rounds of the half. With no margin for error, Gambit dug deep and finally put together a string of rounds, but Dmitriy "jR" Chervak hammered the final nail into the Kazakh side's coffin with back-to-back clutches, sending his team through to the fifth round of the Swiss stage in convincing fashion.
