NRG have defeated North 2-0 and booked their semi-final spot at StarSeries i-League Season 6 (16-14 on Train and 16-13 on Overpass).

The fourth quarter-final match at StarSeries i-League Season 6 featured NRG and North. The best-of-three series kicked off on Train with the North Americans starting on the T-side and winning the first three rounds.

North hit back in the first weapon round and followed it up with four more to lead 5-3. Even though NRG won the ninth round, Valdemar "valde" Bjørn Vangså's triple kill in the following one stopped them from making it two in a row as North made it 6-4.

NRG are through to the semis

NRG took the final three rounds of the half to trail 8-7 and continued their streak on the CT-side, winning the pistol and one anti-eco to go ahead (9-8). The North Americans led 14-13 after both sides went on five round streaks. Damian "daps" Steele clutched a 1vs2 in the penultimate round and Vincent "Brehze" Cayonte sealed the 16-14 map victory with a triple kill in the 30th round.

North kicked off Overpass on the CT-side, winning the pistol thanks to double kills by Markus "Kjaerbye" Kjærbye and Nicklas "gade" Gade. Unfortunately for the Danes, they lost the following round which reset their economy. NRG picked up five consecutive rounds to lead 5-1.

North finished in 5-8th place

A 2vs5 clutch by Ethan "nahtE" Arnold and Jacob "FugLy" Medina made it 8-5 in favor of the North American team who went on to finish the half 9-6 ahead. Kjaerbye's triple gave the second pistol round to North who tied the game at 9-9 by winning the anti-ecos.

The Danish squad secured three more rounds to lead 12-9 but NRG settled down on defense and picked up six rounds in a row to earn three match points (15-12). The North Americans won the map 16-13 and the series 2-0, advancing to the playoffs at StarSeries i-League Season 6 and becoming Vega Squadron's opponents.

They need a proper IGL, MSL was decent & thats the case for cadiaN aswell. I'd say cadian for msl was an upgrade though.

They need more time with a new IGL. They play better in general but need to fix some mistakes. Other than that they are doing well. But would have loved to see them progress :-(

Exactly, but I do think they will benefit from the more freedom they've got more, and it seems like that's the reason for don't exactly what you say, perfect executes, but sometimes stupid mistakes. I'm quite disappointed they lose 3 out of 3 maps to NRG at this tournament. But I confident it's a matter of time before we will see them consistently in top 5 and win a trophy.
2018-10-12 23:15
i was hoping for that OpTic vs North on grand finals to settle who's the better danish team

Hahah thanks man. Ofc the biggest reason I support NRG is because of CeRq as I really want to see him succeed in the international scene. But I also really like the rest of the guys on the team, Brehze and Ethan are insane and have tons of potential, Daps I feel like has always been an underrated IGL, especially in NA, and imho Fugly has always been an above average support player. So a pretty damn solid team, they just need more t1 lan experience.
2018-10-13 02:49
Hell yea :D They work so well off of each other it's insane. I'm so glad they've found a team they can finally make a stand in. I can't wait for them to break out in these t1's. Lets go NRG!
2018-10-13 04:08
