LDLC win ESL Pro European Championship over AGO

Despite starting the grand final a map down due to coming from the lower-bracket, LDLC overcame AGO, 3-2 (16-10 Train, 16-6 Overpass, 8-16 Mirage, 16-7 Dust2) to lift the ESL Pro European Championship trophy.

The ESL Pro European Championship pitted the best teams from ESL's national competitions against each other, with a total of 12 teams competing in the online qualifier. From there, the three best teams advanced to the ~$80,000 LAN finals—LDLC, Epsilon and ALTERNATE aTTaX—, joining AGO who was invited to the LAN in Poznan, Poland directly.

With a 16-12 over ALTERNATE aTTaX and a 2-0 over Epsilon, the home crowd favorites AGO advanced to the grand final without dropping a map, while LDLC had to fight through the lower-bracket to get to the same place after losing to Epsilon, 16-14, in the opener.

to1nou and co. lifted the ESL Pro European Championship trophy

In the grand final, LDLC were quick to even out the map score by winning AGO's map pick, Train, where François "AmaNEk" Delaunay stood out with a 1.34 rating. After that, Overpass followed, where the French side was dominant as CT, racking up 13 rounds in the first half. After such a poor start, it was hard for AGO to make the comeback, and LDLC took the lead, 2-1.

AGO didn't manage a strong team performance on Mirage either, but Tomasz "phr" Wójcik single-handedly won them the game with his 32K-15D showing, leading AGO to a 16-8 victory with 141.2 ADR and a 2.08 rating. The Poles weren't able to make the full comeback, though, as on the last map, LDLC's AWPer Antoine "to1nou" Pirard came online and spearheaded the Frenchmen to a 16-7 victory and the ESL Pro European Championship title.

They deserve it a lot! Great game from LDLC. They're improving a lot this month! They definitely are the hope of french CS, even if it's "just AGO". They're young and definitely have the potential to qualify for big events. AGO didn't play very well, but props to the fans that cheered for them in every round and even after the defeat. Polish CS fans are something, god damn.
2018-10-14 18:47
Maybe they were better, faster, smarter and everythinger but AGO SHOULD WIN becouse it was POLISH tournament at POLISH GROUND.
2018-10-14 18:50
You've got to face it - AGO didn't play well, apart from what they've shown in Mirage. But if a team can't win on their ground, it's the team's problem, not the opponent.
2018-10-14 18:52
I said it previously - I don't care they were better, the script was to make AGO WIN
2018-10-14 18:56
I agree on that! Polish fans deserved it. It should've usually went this way.

Take an eye on Vitality man :p
2018-10-14 20:05
Yeah, Vitality looks great as well! maybe a bit greater than LDLC, I admit. But LDLC is a team made of young and promising players, so these guys are the future of french CS. Looking forward to see both teams perform.

funny that it is not g2 or vitality but ldlc, people thought ldlc died when ex6 left, looks like they got even better so it just proves overrating of ex6 as igl.

You're actually stupid if you believe that. This ldlc lineup is a completely different one from the one ex6 was on.
2018-10-14 18:47
I think ex6 was on the team when Devo and ama joined. Logan joined to replace ex6

No amanek and devoduvek came to replace Maniac and DEVIL. It's Logan that replace ex6.
2018-10-14 19:54
ye that's what I said, I meant ex6 was still on the team when devo and amanek joined. right?

okay thanks for clearing it out for me, I was wrong. My bad
2018-10-14 21:51
nope, Amanek and Devoduvek definitely rose LDLC's level, but they never played with Ex6. And Ex6 still managed to keep LDLC in ECS AND EPL several seasons, which is a really good result when we see the difference of ranking of LDLC and the other teams back then
2018-10-14 20:20
That's silly to think LDLC had died at the time. They all were young players, and even if ALEX had no experience in IGLing whatsoever, AmaNEk and devoduvek, who were beasts in Misfits before, had joined in. I was pretty sure they could've made it to top30.
2018-10-14 18:49
ye but I was watching some faceit stats and saw that ldlc scrimm against mouz and won one map.and nearly second I assume they can become solid tier 2 and get to top 15
